I had use AutoCAD since 1994 for several years. Compared to others CAD software, AutoCAD has lot of feature for customization as an aid for design drawing, especially 2D drawing, construction drawing and for as-built drawing.
Some weird fact is the odd number release so buggy, like AutoCAD 11 and AutoCAD 13. The best one for production on DOS environment was AutoCAD 12 and AutoCAD 14 for Windows95, but still lack for simple 3D modelling based on 2D drawing.
For me, using AutoCAD with a bunch of customized shortcut keys like playing Quake, left hand on keyboard and right hand on mouse. Typing with 10 fingers only when input text for description.
It's more advantage if you can directly sniff on layer 2 network such as snort, tcpdump and connected to monitor-port only on switch, so you can sniff all packets passing through your switch.
If you use linux router also you can sniff realtime tcp/udp/icmp and other protocols with human readable using iptraf.
Another method is sniffing on stealth firewall as bridge mode.
Using the sniffing software is depend on the design of your networks.
I think WiFi not just for mobile, because in development countries WiFi become fixed access. Old PSTN are so expensive! And VoIP is just data (yes its just data) carried by internet access.

I think GNOME 1.4 is faster than the newer version. Right now I still use 2.4 and shut nautilus desktop off because hog the memory.
