I just got a new 400mhz G4 here at work. I had a blue and white G3, so I had the option of using my old ADB keyboard and mouse. I don't have that option with this G4.
The new Apple USB mouse has a little notch on the button so it's easier to find the top. It took a couple of days of getting used to, but the mouse actually isn't that bad.
1.) Apple bad, Linux good (the majority) 2.) Apple good, Linux good (a minority) 3.) Apple good, Linux bad (a small minority)
The types of anti-Apple post I think are the most annoying are the ones that dis the colors and design of a computer and then end it by saying, "well I hate MacOS anyway. That's why I haven't used it since 1990".
I agree. The whole point of those iMac ads was that you'd don't have to know how it works to use it.
I think this is the main reason Apple and the MacOS piss off so many techie-nerd types. The MacOS takes away alot of the need for arcane computer knowledge, and this goes against why computers are attractive to nerds in the first place.
This kind of stuff really facinates me. Does anyone know any links to any "found sounds" archives?
There were some links on the Art Bell web site awhile back to a recording some well-diggers made supposedly of Hell! It was obviously BS, but creepy none the less...
I really like Apple's stuff but I have to agree that 32MB of RAM isn't enough. It's very chintzy of Apple. I think that all computers this day and age should ship with 64MB minimum. Even "toys" like the iBook.
Apple did attempt to acquire Palm Computing awhile back. This is well known. They were rebuffed though. This is where the Palm/Apple connection grew from.
I remeber when Mac users were considered a fanatical bunch of flakes. After reading these Linux zealots posts over the past few days I can really say that they have to be some of the most rabid, venomous, emotionally driven and illogical statements I've ever read. They've truly earned the title of the most annoying and wacky of the OS bigots.
Because it gives us another choice, which is a good thing. Whether or not they'll succeed is the real question. And why would they use Intel chips is another...
big dummy booger-head
Apple just announced some new products on this subject here
Ah yes..it's a REAL computer cuz it runs WINDOWS® and has one of them new fangled floppy drive thingies in it...
Haw haw!!
Trolls are just so much fun!
That's a weird way to spell weird....
iCrap! That so funny! I get it!
The alternative rock show on MTV was called "120 Minutes".
I agree that after Beavis and Butthead and Lquid Television were gone there was no other reason to watch anymore.
There have also been so many failed products.
Staggering numbers of them.
???
(spoken in Carl Sagans voice)...and as we look out into the Universe, all we can see is a sea of billions and billions of failed Apple products...

I still don't like the keyboard though....

Your baseless heterophobia shows your hatred of straight people.
That's the best comeback you could come up with? How about something like, "Well... your mother likes it..."
Here are a few Mac upgrade links....

Sorta like you, with your "Apple Zealots" comment.

Just a confirmation that Slashdot really is a News for Nerds site. You just can't get much more nerdy than Weird Al.
The cool thing about Weird Al is that he never ages.
No. No Firewire, yet. But rumor has it that the next generation iMac will have firewire.
Really? In what way?
Well said.

Without ZD Net, Slashdot wouldn't have any news. ;)
he is, ya know
One must open their eyes to see. Open them.
Ridley Scott dircted Blade Runner. He's still alive...
