Perhaps someone can explain to me the slight or not-so-slight bias against the French in the US I keep hearing about
France is in a power play right now and are using the UN/EU/NATO to achieve its goals. It wants to try and regain some of the its past power. The results of this have been to use their power in those orginizations to rebut much of what the US has been trying to do.
But even before that France and America haven't always gotten along. To them we're crazy gun-toting uncultured right wing Christian criminals (even though our gun related crime has been decreasing and theirs has been increasing greatly due to a huge, uncontrollable black market for guns in Europe, flooding in from Eastern Europre). To Americans the French are snobby, elitist, socialist, and godless people who are morally bankrupt.
If 'The patriot' is any accurate indication of US history
We all know how many peaceful, civil protests are broken up with riot gas and rubber bullets now....too bad we don't have the freedom to peaceably assemble here in america.
And we all know how many "peaceful" protests turn into full fledged riots, complete with destruction of public and private property, fighting with cops, etc. Unfortunately the only video we see on the nightly news is the police reaction, not the action that caused the reaction. If you swing at a cop or break the windows of an "evil" starbucks or McDonalds or torch a car then you deserve a billy club to the head.
more full mockup rooms/settings you can walk through you know... kind of a "walk through the future city" thing or "walk through a sci-fi setting from a movie or something else"
Ahh! You didn't even read the whole news post! MS isn't going to bundle this!
It's not that you didn't RTFA... I mean... all you had to do is read another sentence or two:
Asked if that would hurt sales of competing products, such as Network Associates' McAfee and Symantec's Norton family of products, Nash (chief of Microsoft's security business unit) said that Microsoft said that it would sell its anti-virus program as a separate product from Windows, rather than including it in Windows.
Give me a break... Hey fucktard... it's nice to see you get so upset over a little good-natured jab like that. I'm perfectly aware of the origins of the term RAID. Re-fuckin-lax.
i know... but I've seen some ugly performance hits that make you almost wish the whole thing was down. I guess it all depends on hardware (as does pretty much everything else)
RAID 0, you need a hero, RAID 1, is equally fun, but RAID 5 keeps you alive!
RAID 5 - better keep an extra drive Or you'll be down until the replacement arrives RAID 10 is better my friend Work doesn't stop when the drive comes to an end
Quick overview: RAID 5 - Requires at least 3 HDs (many times implemented with 5 - can be used with up to 24 I believe). Data is not mirrored but can be reconstructed after drive failure using the remaining disks and the parity data (very similiar to how PAR files can reconstruct damaged/missing RAR files for the Newsgroup pirates out there). % of total space available dependent on number of drives used.
RAID 10 - High performance, but expensive. You get ~50% of the total HD space as it is fully mirrored. So, 1 TB total disk space nets you 500 GB total storage space. Your data is mirrored so if one drive fails you do not lose everything. However, if you experience multiple drive failure you can be in big trouble.
Directv is suing people for simply purchasing hardware (smart card readers, etc) from sites that also sell hardware for pirating satellite TV. They're not suing people because they have proof of them pirating their service, who are people they should be suing and going after.
Smart card readers have a lot of legitimate uses. Should we start suing people who have bought guns, because they may be using them to rob people, or suing people who own a car, because they may drive drunk?
Well, I would like to direct my business to companies whose practices do not include abusing our court system. From my point of view the two companies seem to offer very similar service. So, if I'm going to choose one over the other, picking the one that's less lawyer/lawsuit happy seems like a perfectly legit reason.
I don't forsee myself buying a smart card reader, but who knows? I'm not one to try and pirate cable/satellite, but I might just be curious and want to poke around with the hardware that I own (I will be buying my own hardware, not leasing it).
They are using lawsuits, much like the RIAA/MPAA. You may very well be "innocent", but the costs of defending yourself in court are so high that it's just not worth it. For the companies the cost is minimal, as much of its work can be done in house by their teams of full time lawyers.
As someone is the market for cable/satellite service I had been looking for a way to really differentiate between Dish Network and DirectTV. I think my decision has now been made. Or, does Dish Network also like to sue people?

No movies coming out of America should be assumed to be anywhere near truthful or accurate. Even our "documentaries" are fictional.
yeah... good point
:-o
I am the stupid
I was under the impression that a 400W power supply was capable of outputing 400W of power, not that it took as input 400W of power.
"Ferrari starts with F!"
You remember the driver Victor Sciado, the famed Ferrari driver? That was his explanation on why Ferrari was doing so well these days.
Strange guy.
here's an example:Results in:
Easy, you see?

I thought that was Bad Boys 2?

Took me a while to find them...
Here (without the annoying popup)
After seeing those... I'm disappointed to say the least.
woah... yes... what he was saying..
I was uhmm... talking about how the swashbuckling pirates use newsgroups to share maps and sea charts... yes
the problem is that the ninjas are on to them...

And you have to store all that on hard drives why? Ever heard of a DVD burner?
Lets see... 2.5 TB ~ 600 DVDs
And you store all of those DVDs where? And you access them quickly how?

Redundant Array of Independent Disks
Try RAID 5 or RAID 10 (not to be confused with RAID 0+1). This site has a nice overview of all the RAID options. And, of course, Wikipedia has some info.

RAID 5 - Requires at least 3 HDs (many times implemented with 5 - can be used with up to 24 I believe). no no no... NASA is causing the earthquakes... not predicting them
and the answer I got was....
I don't know. I don't even know what the fuck I did. Just pushed buttons and two minutes later it told me I was done! THE QUANTUM POWER IS AMAZING!

Maybe you should read up?
Dish Network owns Directv
Uhmm... no they don't.
Dish Network == EchoStar
DirecTv == Rupert Murdoch (and friends)
If I recall, they tried to merge awhile back, but were not allowed to.

It's an absolutely disgusting practice.

for the windows users out there: /flushdns
