    Sorry, that's just speculation. The Aug 3rd date was first put forward by ebgames (who is always accurate as we know) and then every other retailer jumped on that date.

    The QuakeWorld upgrade supported up to 64 players (I believe).

    The article clearly states that Doom3 will not be released before Quakecon. The official release "date" for Doom3 is Summer.

    So, Doom3 in summer (June ~21st - Sept ~21st), after Quakecon (August 12-15), narrows it down. Most people expect a late August release.

    if you had RTFA you would know that this is the first time that people will have played Doom3 multiplayer (even the leaked beta didn't have that).

    Doom3 is still going to be released after quakecon. This tournament doesn't affect the release date.

    broadcasting over short range to their car radio.

    As I understood it, the broadcasting antenna is placed right next to the receiving antenna, pretty much overpowering any other signal to that antenna

    Yeah... don't quite get the excitement over this one. This type of thing has been done for quite some time. There's much much better hardware available for this type of tomfoolery. Although I guess now that it's with a iPod it makes it newsworthy.

    Van Buuren is a cool guy. The electronic scene is no more pro-drug than the rock scene, and has much better music

    I know. I'm a big Armin Van Buuren fan. Unfortunately I missed him last time he was in town. I just caught Tiesto live last week and it was pretty damn good. Best thing about the electronic scene is that tickets to the shows are so much less expensive (at least by me - 5 hours of music for $20 to see Tiesto and two top-notch local DJs)
