    The right is to the individual, not society. Besides that a lot of things could be crafted as "being good for society as a whole". Like telling people what to eat, drink and do.

    "If you do accept the rationale for allowing a suspect to refuse to answer the question of whether they committed the crime or not, why don't we extend the same protection to third-party witnesses?"
    There are some protections for 3rd party witnesses like spouses, it also varies depending on the circumstances like blackmail, fear or trauma. it's not black and white.

    If you're sitting on a couch with your feet on a table, you're not doing any serious work, so why wouldn't you just use an iPad anyway while you're fapping to furry porn?

    Just because it's called a laptop doesn't mean it's best to use it on your lap.

    For other people like us it's not a common position. Most of my time is spent sitting at a desk or table with my laptop, a few times I've been seen with the said laptop on my lap on the couch. I want a device like this because it's a laptop that I can work on the majority of the time and still use it to moonlight as an tablet.

    If you want a tablet just buy a tablet.

    Why is everyone so hyped about about apple tv? Even gabe is scared of it but apple has done nothing new with its set top box. It's about as useful as my crappy dvd player (which can play netflix and has its own apps).

    I'm tired of reading bullshit articles day after day from idiot bloggers. What makes systems like xbox and ps3 so powerful isn't necessarily their hardware specs but their dedication. Anything with stock android isn't good for jackshit, and will force you to buy better and better hardware just to make it go faster, a problem the ps3 and xbox gaming consoles excel at.

    When I move my wired mouse, the cursor moves 100% of the time. If this eye tracking stuff is even 99% accurate, it loses the mouse vs eyes contest and aggrivates the user. Touch, motion, eye-tracking, and all other assorted stupidity are all inferior to the controls we have now and are just fancy, futuristic gimmicks.

    of course its's stupid. Because everyone has 2 arms!

    fair and reasonable is actually quite simple. If you're charging everyone .5%and then charging a particular vendor 2.25% it's not fair and reasonable.

    I'd rather it were the same thickness as the old model if the battery would last longer. Who exactly is it that thinks so they're so horribly thick?

    Everyone I've seen with an iPhone has a ridicilously huge rubber case protecting the fragile thing. You should see the one my girlfriends mom has. You would think she was using a phone from early 2000. Why is thin such a big deal when everyone has a case that makes it NOT thin?
