Yeah I just noticed that... well.. the actual preferences section and most config options will be different to IE, but I guess I'll just stop reading slashdot and go get some coffee.
This all works well until you get a tech support query, and ask them what browser they are using. They say IE, you say, "ok, go to tools -> options" and everything goes quiet as they can't find that menu option.
Well. thats one more instant messaging protocol off the list.
Not to sure about the netscape stuff being affected... its just a useless portal now, and iirc AOL let the mozilla coders go a while back, hence the mozilla foundation.
Then that would be silly.. Surely posting this story is one of the better ways to alert thousands of geeks that they need to patch their servers / machines to fix a critical flaw.
Hang on.. If windows NT / 2000 are affected.. looks like M$ have been sitting on it for a _lot_ longer than 6 months. On the other hand, if they didn't know about it, I wonder how many systems could have been compromised. When was windows NT released again ?
Looks like the blog is little more than a news feed for new software releases. I doubt they would be able to post any significant stuff about where / how linux is being used within Dell.

With the cost of sending things to mars, and George bush all in "I'm happy spending truckloads of money" mood, I'm sure a few million $ to spend on keeping hubble operational could be found.
Hell, if they turn it round to face us, they could use to to find terrorists and stick it on the war against terror budget;)
