By coincidence, I happened to notice this yesterday: C:\>ls --help Usage: ls [OPTION]... [FILE]... List information about the FILEs (the current directory by default).
ls version 4.3.169 2005/09 for Microsoft Windows. Microsoft Windows extensions by Alan Klietz Get the latest version at http://utools.com/msls.asp
-a, --all do not hide entries starting with .
-A, --almost-all do not list implied . and..
--acls[=STYLE] show the file Access Control Lists (ACL):
STYLE may be `short', `long', `very-long'
or `none'
This is Cygwin, obviously. So, ls has support for ACLs, but probably has to be compiled in and is probably OS-dependent. I have not looked at the source.
Nowadays, I find it much more convenient to visit Funspot
Agreed. People look at me funny when I describe my yearly visits as "holy pilgrimages", but I really love that place! I'm fortunate it's only an hour's drive away.
And, if you think that someone is missing -- someone who absolutely deserves to be inducted into the IVGHOF, but is not on this list, you are right! This process is just beginning and we plan on bestowing the highest honors on every individual or organization who has contributed to the success or enrichment of the worldwide video game industry. Unfortunately, everybody can't be inducted in a single year, so we ask for everyone's patience as we move through this first year and work to establish the IVGHOF as the cultural crossroads of the video game age.
Yeah, this thing is 22", which might work well as a cocktail-style video game surface. A larger screen would make a good tabletop and be nifty for some kinds of wargaming/RPGs (etc).
I doubt it works underwater, else you could put it in a shallow basin and have a BSG Cylon-type interface...
Ah, Fort Apocalypse, the first game I ever cracked. (I only cracked the games I owned and didn't distribute them; I looked down on the posers who thought they were elite because they traded pirated games back and forth)
I just moved and found my old 2600 and a bunch of games. Unfortunately, I don't have a TV with the proper inputs anymore. I'll have to look into getting an old one...
It varies. I just turned 44, and I work from about 10:00-18:00, and have usually managed to hold to that schedule for the last 10 years or so... There were a couple of years in the late 90s when I was working absurd 100+ hour weeks (and worked one 126 hour week), which were good learning experiences, but not something I'm eager to repeat.
I do everything in my power to avoid ads, so have not seen a McDonalds (or any other) ad in probably more than 12 years. I get your point, though.
My final solution to the problem of telemarketers was to do away with my landline and use only a cell phone. That said, I did get (what sounds like) the scumbags mentioned in the article calling my office phone at work, once or twice a week. Probably whatever employee had that number before gave it away unwisely. That stopped about 6 months ago, I'd say.
I myself don't have the time or patience (or ability to control my anger; telemarketers are parasites who really bring out the worst in me) to follow through on the various ways to screw with telemarketers - but I wish the best of luck to those people who do.
I went to the 'Seasonal' aisle of my local supermarket, and they had absolutely no SysAdmin Day decorations for sale.
It's disgusting, the way this country treats its SysAdmins.
2: It's dangerous out there: croaking frogs attract snakes.
The Zogg are already among us.
Magic? I would think that a 12-core Apple would be the result of nuclear testing, or toxic waste.
The kind that leaves a red hand-shaped mark on the side of my face isn't much fun :-(.

Is this the joke thread? Ok, here's mine...
Twinkle, twinkle, really freaking big star...

Nice. :-)
But, quoting the website:

Perhaps he was dictating.

Your nose, dummkopf! Everyone has a nose.
Mein Hund hat keine Nase.
We're not going to tolerate your homophonia around here, mister.
I recall that they had something like that in "A Plague of Demons", by Kieth Laumer.
I prefer aa, bb, cc, and xx, yy, zz. Easy to search for, and more easily to distinguish visually than i,j,k,l at high resolutions.
I misread the final word as "advertisers" and for a minute was getting pretty enthusiastic about signing up...
Just use the metric system, but base-12. Problem solved :-).
Definitely don't go to Crazy Vaclav's Place of Automobiles to buy a car.
I, for one, will never play a game that includes advertising.
Thanks for the information, guys.

I do not like green potatoes and ham.
The ploor guy is going to get a lot of flak for that typo.
Nicely said, both of you. I'll use what you've said when I tell friends, family and coworkers about my own anti-advertising philosophy.
