I don't think that there was a real battle against Neanderthals. I believe that our own and private daily insight of our living is allways telling us the complete history of humanity.
If there was a battle, it should have been the ethernal one of human against nature.- Nature is that practical way of facing every day living, without thinking of the future or of any other nonsense (superficially).-
Then, evolution might have only relied in trusting our groups idea of what was required for a living. I refer as group to the number of people where we could share our time and organize work to have some spare time to practice throwing and aiming (for example).-
As the way of living might have been heavily conditioned by the environment. It might have been a big change if some people had lived near or in the sea. But who knows if having a pleasant and secure environment might have not doomed those groups of humans...
I don't blame you for wanting to have a lot of money. We, fools , also like that.
I don't blame M$ for stealing Xerox's invention and patenting it.
I know that the powerful are never mad. They finally have the right truth. Specially when they have a patent about such silly things to make them win any difficult case.
Patents are about the silence of the common people. Intelligent masses should never speak or propose anything that they have never thought of. This is a contradiction in the Internet era, don't you think?
It is a mistake to see the money when you are buying something. Just see the product! (Object Oriented:) If I decide to be nice I am not deciding to be nice to all the world (there are terrorists!). Opensource is the oportunity of big companies to improve their creativity, don't you think? And I don't want to depend on paid creativity. Just see the results on everyday life. The best things come where freedom is more open. So, instead of thinking about the money, just think in a way of increasing all this creativity by creating some income to people that do OS. It is not such a difficult thing to do. It is always OS that is going to do the best creation.
I think that this commercial way of living was not chosen by all the people. It is the result of advertising. Now, it is the turn of some excecutives to get dissmissed by the consumers for incompetence. New ways of earning money is going to be created by new generations of businessmen. People should choose to have a voice in this new commerce. And should reject any creation of new monopolies. This is a good chance for making good changes! (if it is possible to get something good from progress)
Isaac Assimov wrote about the idea of using 50 satelites with sun collector to feed a country by electricity transmited by microwaves. Thhe there is some strange russian satelite that uses to open a big shinny umbrella over some industrial city to give sunlight during their nights to save energy. But, is it possible that the original russian idea was to build the previous array of suncollectors that Assimov wrote about? Is it nowadays, possible to transmit microwaves with electricity, like Tessla spoke half a century ago?
I don't understand how is it possible that a big part of the LINUX community keep on judging the market by their commercial or technical aspect and not by the users.
I mean, the users of LINUX-TRON or Windows represent their intention of doing something creative with the OS. It's clear that the more creative the users feel, the more they would tend to use LINUX or every ingenious OS where the tools are available to everybody at any time and unconditionally.
So, with this point of view, everything would look with the right perspective. Since the more experienced every user is becoming , the more are these 'alternative' OS being visible for everybody. One could apply the same logic with WWW business, and understand why isn't it yet possible to become a prosperous web site even if you spend a lot of money on it.
Alternative OS users shouldn't be measuring the users' interest in opensource to put a price to a distribution. But encourage everybody to start trying something, by playing a lot! (remember: everything is created from crazy acts)
What LINUX operates is a FREE system, not the paid distros. It is funny to see many companies that start creating new software for free, and then end asking for money for what everybody got used to use... To be a fan shouldn't be a part of the opensource.
Do you know where does the word 'slave' come from? It was the way of calling the slavish people (Russians) during the middle ages, because they were made slaves very frequently by invaders... Now, how come that these 'slaves' became what they are today in such a small ammount of time?
It reminds me the fable of the frog and the centipode. The frog asked it what leg was it going to lift next and the centipode couldn't walk any more.
Does anybody know anything about the TCPA , is it real?
Is it possible to skip that barrier if it happens in the future?

I once helped making, real wine with grapes. You know the one that you get a lot of grapes, put the in a big barrel and then call your friends to spend the afternoon, stepping over at a constant pace... They left the poured juice at some pails for two weeks, until the surface starts bubling the fermented solids. They then passed it though some filters. They didn't thou raw eggs to collect the invisible tiny pieces of grapes. After filtering all, the added some alcohol of 70 degrees to every bottle, to speed up the wine... After some months, they got a very tasty sweet and white wine. Wine is the most!
Is these what people drunk at the Lord of the Rings story, near the fire and telling stories? It happens that we, latin people, don't remember that recipie (in Spanish it is called HIDROMIEL, that's 'honey water'). After reading the book I kept on looking for the recipie, and only found it at monk's recipie:. Boiling and storing it at a wooden barrel. Tasted good, after four months! I would like to try again with your recipies. Thanks.
Twice, first I was once dismissed from a Catholic School without any month of advise nor explanation: Before the trial they offered me some money or the option of recovering my job. I said, NO - I want the money (obvious:)) Second, I was dismissed from a company that went to bankrupt. Some months later, my ill boss came to me asking me to open some accounts in the PC's cash program to see some numbers. I said, may be, when you pay me what you owe me for now being jobless. The boss said that he couldn't. Now, I don't feel guilty. Just tired of being fired after doing all the silly things that they asked me to, without complaining, ever.
I programmed in JAVA, Basic, Assembly, Pascal and others, but not in C-C++. It was impossible to understand so many Special Variables, the left significant asignments and where should I look for some help in a structured way.
All is solved by reading a book that starts with the simplest structures. That's all!
It's amazing!
Another alternative might always be the simplest: ask somebody that is near you.
Now Iam liking it a lot!

I am writing to ask you to reject President Bush's request for authorization of preemptive military action against Iraq. Please vote "no" on the Bush administration's war resolution.
Iraq is a real problem. It must comply with all relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions and allow unfettered inspections to determine whether it has eliminated its nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons programs. However, the way in which the United States addresses the situation in Iraq will have far-reaching effects on the future prospects for effective controls on these weapons. Unilateral and preemptive military actions by the United States against Iraq would undermine the authority of the UN in addressing future threats to international security and make controlling weapons of mass destruction more difficult in the longer run.
Effective controls will require a strong international regime, one based on the rule of law, supported by the international community, and enforced by the UN Security Council. The United States can, and should, respond in a way that will address the near-term problem of Iraq's programs to develop weapons of mass destruction, and also lay the groundwork for a more secure and stable international order on which US security will ultimately depend.
The United States should now work to gain UN Security Council approval for the immediate resumption of inspections with no conditions and, if effective inspections do not proceed, for efforts to enforce Iraqi disarmament. The use of armed force against Iraq should be considered only as a last resort and should be authorized by the UN Security Council. Please vote no on any resolution that does not impose these conditions on US military actions.
Sincerely,
[your name will appear here] ******* Thank you for taking action.
