>> The ones that hit the street before even the US release of the DVD are either from a video camera in the theater or from copying a screener. Often you can see the screener warnings while watching the movie.
Movies hit DVDs so fast these days that most of the bootlegs in China and Malaysia are sourced directly from DVD releases. I'll estimate that 15% are from video cameras in the theatre.
You forget the biggest one (at least my biggest one)...
The inconsistency of the close button. Sometime it quits the application, sometimes it closes the document within the application, sometimes it just makes the application go away, but its not hidden (that's something else) and its not closed.
There are a few other inconsistencies but once you know them its not a big deal, and despite the inconsistencies, I enjoy OS X the most.
1. Incredibly creative and has great vision. 2. Absolute perfectionist. 3. Great ability to attract outstanding people to work with him. 4. If he respects you, he will interact with you and modify his ideas 5. The damn guy knows how to make money!
>> You'd expect, for example, one month before they're due to ship, Apple would know enough about the final design to give us some idea of battery life on the things.
But they did. They said it will be "about the same". I've read that quote in numerous places. I think that qualifies as "some idea".
Lastly, the Core Duo outperformed both the iMac G5 and the Power Macintosh G5 on the disk test. This could be due to fragmentation, as the Core Duo was the only system with a "fresh" OS install.
So, uhhh, why didn't they do a "fresh" install on the older Macs? All the other benchmarks are probably affected too. What a useless review.
I don't know what pre-emptive multitasking is, but i like it because of the following reasons: Spotlight, Expose, Dashboard, software like iLife, no sign of any viruses or spyware, beautiful clean user interface.
So you are saying that customers that were willing to buy apple hardware when it was slow (ie: PowerBook) will no longer buy it when it's faster and can also run Windows (inevitble).
Why does the author talk about power leveling when he himself says that power leveling is not cheating. Nor is it hacking. Nor is it griefing. Power leveling is nothing more than leveling as quickly as possible. This can be done by playing non-stop, acquiring the best equipment possible, knowing the best spots to hunt, receiving help from other players.
The methods people employ to powerlevel CAN include things that are against the rules, but these fall under macroing, botting, and hacking, which the author aslo talks about, and which are not exclusive to power leveling.
How is it secret when if you play a song from your Library, the mini store stars showing other songs by the same artist? You'd have to be an idiot not to figure out that they are talking to eachother.
And why the hell does it matter anyway? Of what consequence is it that they know what music I'm listening too?

Oh my gosh! what have I done? My privacy will never be the same!!!
It's the fact they are doing it that matters. I don't see any other notebooks that are. The same thing goes for the dissapearing magnetic clasp, or the ambient light-sensitive backlit keyboard. They are simple ideas, but I don't see anyone else doing it. Even a slot-load drive is uncommon for notebooks.
Minidisc has achieved great success in Japan.

It's slightly greater than one order of magnitude. It's not multiple orders of magnitude.
That's what you call over-analyzing.
The simple explanation is that it's simply another article.

In GW, your avatars and all their belongings are persistent. This is not the case in CS or UT. I call GW an MMORPG.
I think the digital camera was $4k. Not sure if they released it in N.A.

Apple is both a hardware and software company. It's the synergy between the two that they capitlize on. Microsoft is getting into hardware too (XBox).
Based on the Macworld Keynote...
850 million songs to date
3 million songs per day
42 million ipods to date
=
20 songs per iPod, increasing by one every two weeks

No one is saying that Mac are immune, either.
Simply, Market Cap = Number of Shares x Price per Share.

Ummm, I don't think you read the article. The parent is asking about a game that was designed for the PowerBook.
The answer might be that the game requires an OS hack to tap into the PowerBook motion sensor.

Yes, using AVC - advanced video codec, aka H.264, aka MPEG-4 Part 10.
That's superb. Please keep us all informed!
