Run-around heat exchangers are nothing new, and energy recovery ventilators have been around a while, too. My point is, there's still no way a house with adequate ventilation for human occupancy, even just one person, could be heated with a single candle.
Broadband connection....$50/month Web server......................$400 Domain name registration using your name and "soft.com" after it.... $8/year Being threatened by the 800 pound gorilla from Redmond for trademark infringement and getting/.'d the same day.....Priceless
It was PC Limited, not PCS Unlimited. I remember how fast a 12 MHz machine seemed.
A couple of classic portable machines:
Radio Shack Model 100 - every writer had one, and although very limited especially compared with what's available today, it served its purpose admirably well as the tool it was intended to be.
Hewlett-Packard HP-35 scientific calculator. Introduced in January 1972, this electronic sliderule in your pocket with Reverse Polish Notation shook the engineering and scientific communities, as anyone worth his salt had to have one. The geek factor was off the charts, it was built like a tank, and it was a very efficient workhorse. Some are still in use today.

I'll wait till early December 26th and hope I don't get trampled by all the other guilt-ridden Linux users out there wanting to do the right thing. As long as they knock off 10% or so I'm happy. I wouldn't want to see 'em suffer because I didn't do my duty and pay up.
For the average guy who values convenience much more than sound quality and cost, it may be OK.
But I doubt most people are going to rush out and replace their CDs (and *gasp* vinyl records) with the new stuff.
Being a serious audiophile and music lover, I'm sticking with my large collection of LPs and CDs. SACD maybe some day, if they make it sound better than it does now. Meanwhile, good used LPs are by far the cheapest way to get a lot of good music, and for at least some people like me, the best format.
The product, that is. Ignoring that people have different HRTFs, room placement will be a problem, because getting good dispersion of treble frequencies as well as dealing with bass boominess (corner placement is often best for subwoofers) are challenges. And I know all about Q-sound such as used on Roger Waters' Amused to Death where the dogs are barking off stage; that's nothing new.
I think what we have here is purely a gimmick. People who think this is the ticket to paradise will be disappointed. The clueless guy who doesn't know the difference between speaker wires and interconnects (patch cords) might be right at home, but jeez, somebody who can figure out how to use an AV receiver ought to be able to hook up speakers. Hide the cabling if you must, but don't be fooled into thinking this single speaker gadget will take you to nirvana. The only good thing about it is it isn't a Bose product, 'cause it'd be twice as expensive and probably sound like crap like the rest of their stuff.
Red Hat deserves to have users thumb their noses at them when, according to them, Linux IS ready for the desktop, which is when they'll introduce "New Coke". fsck that!
Those who want high fidelity sound without compromise will not accept it. MP3s are one of the most obvious examples of horrible sound quality, basically like lousy AM radio. No wonder kids these days (speaking like an old timer here) don't give a darn about sound quality. I listen to CDs but prefer vinyl, even though the latter has an occasional tick or pop, because it sounds more real. It works for me. I've got thousands of irreplaceable LPs with lots of great music, stuff you just can't get on any other format.
Much more responsive than my 48GX and a ton better than the 49G, which was a mistake with its rubber keys (ugh!) and awful color scheme. The display on the 49g+ is also a lot nicer, with no cover over the screen to cause rainbow effects due to polarization.
Is 1 GB "enough for anybody"?
Bill Gates can kiss my keyboard.
I just got the patch! No more viagra for me!

In Chicago, walking will keep you healthy, but running can save your life.

since occupants require at least some outside air for ventilation, and the heating of that air has nothing to do with the insulation of the structure.

Microsoft was ordered to stop calling Windows an operating system.
Damned Linux religious zealots!

If so, it should disable itself. That way nobody gets hurt.
that Microsoft would use the same name as a window cleaner . I hope the people who make that product sue the pants off 'em.
and offer bounties on the heads of the chickensh!t idiots who came up with this idea?
...after making statements like that.

This pales in comparison to Sen. Trent Lott, who invented the paperclip.
In other words, Buzz Off, Bill! Go find your own sandbox.

makes it much easier to fling across the room when Windoze crashes, or even to crush the damned thing with your hands (take THAT, Bill G!).
the FSF just declared SCO void.
will be pronounced "Win Fix". Alternate pronunciations: "reformat hard disk", "install Linux"
