My guess is the AV companies are sensing that 'peak windows' has passed, and are manufacturing a new market. The reason to run AV software on other platforms is to avoid inadvertently forwarding viruses to Windows users. Not a compelling story.
Does 700+ atmospheres constitute 'goldilocks' in the search for exoplanets? 'Goldilocks', apparently refers to a set of conditions capable of sustaining life. I've often been struck by the near-religous arrogance of defining the conditions capable of sustaining life. Someone who didn't drop biology in (very) high school will hopefully clarify this. From casual reading, it seems that we find life on this planet everywhere we look. From SO2 vents on the ocean floor, to the rim of volcanoes, the ocean trenches to the upper atmosphere, the hottest desert to the coldest poles.
Should the perspective be "life can happen anywhere; the onus is to define where it can't"?
Smith&Wesson probably would be evil if they weren't doing such a great job killing off all the gun nuts, but Exxon-Mobil? By what comparison are Exxon-Mobil not evil? Start the list in Alaska, and work your way south.
Oracle paid a bundle for Sun, and are willing to 'light it on fire to save the heating costs'. With RIM now relegating java apps to "legacy support" in RIM-OS-next, Android are it for Java in the mobile computing space. Why would Oracle want to pick a fight? Oh, right, they don't care, and just want to get whatever cash they can for the Java assets that were bundled with Sun.
My bet is that Oracle will calve "Java, Inc", and Google will buy it. The valuation will work out to about 1/4 the original price of Sun, and Oracle shares will rise.
Not just that.... If we sent those CEOs and their products instead of soldiers, we wouldn't need war. They would devastate the enemy countries in ways no other sort of weapon can. The once fierce enemy would be reduced to a docile imbecile lost in such a desperate technocracy that Second Life will actually seem like fun.
Its a bit like those Japanese soldiers they used to find periodically on Pacific islands, thinking the war was still on. That poor little OS/2 server, not knowing netcraft had long ago declared victory, and that there was nobody left to talk to it.
A 12" CD could hold about a dozen regular ones. Not only could you have big album art, but the spinning patterns would complement the bong quite nicely.
I love it. Everybody is way too serious, so even if this has an onionesque pedigree, it is a relief to find a bunch of wackos going public with their insane fantasies. Compared with the usual military stories about which oil nation to attack next, this is like a breath of fresh air. Shine on you crazy bastards....
Why do Oil Producing Countries want nuclear bombs? Because they can afford them? Does oil make you paranoid? Maybe Canada should nuke-up to defend the tar sands.....
I was hoping 2011 would be the year Linux was on the pad.
Flight Simulator.
It was awesome on a 5Mhz 8088.
MS-Project.
Its like crack for Project Managers; it keeps them obsessively occupied without causing any real damage.
OS/2.
It was more innovative than a vms rehash.

just a thought....
Does this mean we have to bomb Germany?
It was just the bacteria talking....
Maybe MS (the other one) are making people stupid with their anti-biotics. It would explain a lot - like everything since FDR or there about.
wow. I thought it was just vms-retreaded; I mean I didn't think anybody would do that on purpose. I wonder what his next victim will be...

Leave Paris alone, can't you see she's suffered enough.

Here is a $10M idea - make an iPhone simulator that runs on the Nokia. Future proof.

Light is kinda strong up there, might be a bit tough to get people to agree on how much light is too much, but hats off to the wacky idea squad.
Was there a bumper crop in France this year, or did they confiscate the Roma's weed before booting them out?

I think they fit in kindergarten. Most move on once they can read.
"I was a teenage anarchist; But the politics were too convenient" - Against Me!
but they make up for it in viciousness.
"Slower traffic keep right" - Canadian road sign or political joke?
The concept is that these scientists work for the Canadian people, not for the zealot of the day.
"The time for study is over, it is time for action" - John Baird, then Minister of Environment, before gutting the climate scientists budgets.
make it very big. medium size impresses no one. Think how important you will feel if you have to replace your TV stand just to accommodate this.....
Can you imagine some sluggo pitching this as fun to his employees? I say 'his' because no woman could be so lame as to come up with this....
In the last few seconds, the zombies are all clamouring for iPhones.
Is that because iPhones are just like brains, or is Win7MoPhone so bad zombies won't use them?
That was Assange's palm smacking his rather large forehead!
