As long as the documentation is up-to par the rest of the system can be a black box as far as I'm concerned, just tell me what the inputs/outputs are and what process needs to be implemented between them.../most of the time I rather NOT see other people's code

Sorry if I sound bitter, but the process to work here LEGALLY, is arbitrary, demeaning, and completelly one-sided.
BTW, if working abroad what you really want to do, persistance is the key, keep filing all the ridiculous paperwork that they'll ask you for, keep sending those applications and eventually (if you dont give up first) you WILL get it. (like I did here in the USA,;-))
