    this wouldn't work with phone modems, phonelines get transferred to digital at some point and therefore the limiting factor is no longer the modem (and hasn't been for about 6 years now)

    You didn't answer the question. If I buy microsoft stock at $100 and it falls to $10 that doesn't mean that $90 have disappeared. I originally bought the stock from someone so thats where the $90 went. The question posed is this: Where does money come from? Its a chicken/egg situation once you realized the entire world currency is not backed by gold.

    And what games do you play in linux that make windows look unstable? Loki's ports are not any more stable than their windows counterparts.. the only difference I see is if one of them locks up you just hit ctr alt backspace and then type startx.. but then again who the hell plays games on linux anyway?

    But according to the constitution

    Sect. 1. Full faith and credit shall be given in each State to the public act, records, and judicial proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may, by general laws, prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof.

    Full faith should be given to the states records, but the gov't can tell them how they have to prove their validity. If this could be used to invoke a nation standard on the layout and card itself however I am not certain.

    The software IS copyrighted, but its issued under a license that allows it to be distributed for free and even relicensed so long as the copyright stays with it. The way you said it it was like the whole freebsd project was public domain. Just about everything on the CD is copyrighted but that does NOT mean that you can't press your own CD copies with the EXACT SAME image and sell them. Please provide a link saying that you can't.
