"Also, tables inserted inside of MS Word documents do not translate. Importing a document, only to have the tables be empty, is a little scary." Wonderful ! Abiword imports tables with only its text. Combine the power of two word processors to have 100% compatibility with MS Office !!!
Yes, it existed much before XP had come out. You can configure gdm to start up with multiple login screens and switch between them using Cntr+Alt+7 or Cntrl+Alt+8 etc. And even if you do not configure gdm to have multiple servers, after login you can choose Gnome Menu->System->New Login, and get a new login screen. Also have you heard of Xnest? You can also use gdm to login as another user in a nested window. I wish your title was "Where did microsoft copy XP logins"
As far as I remember this was available on Sun's site for months(at least I have used it in 2001 August. Also if you look at the page, Sun links to press release of 2000, as "last August". So on all counts this page was written in last year.
1. Galeon can be antialiased even if you do not have GNOME 2.0, see http://gdkxft.sf.net. Also see the screenshot http://users.starpower.net/shaji/galeon.jpg
2. You can disable popups windows.
3. You can disable banner ads. ( Block images from this site, try it on ads.doubleclick.net etc..)
4. Excellent full screen, you can configure what you want to see(menubar, toolbar etc.) in fullscreen. (Internet Explorer - it is time to learn from galeon.)
5. Faster start up, like mozilla quick launch on Windows. (Start galeon with "galeon -s", when you startup the window manager or gnome session. Galeon will now be launched faster than ever).
6. Cool search boxes can be added to your toolbar. Look at the above screenshot for "google" search and debian package search.
7. Can set up shockwave, real, java and pdf plugins.
8. SSL support.
9. Tabbed browsing.
10. Easily change short cut keys. Select the menu option with the mouse and press the desired key.
11. Excellent cookie, password and form management.
12. Autocompletion using TAB.
13. Last but not least, it is faster than light.
Are there any plans for quick launch option for Linux? I just discovered that there exists one for Galeon. Start "galeon -s" from your gnome sessions, and there you go..

Yeah... it works for me. The catch is when you install it you should also install the AOL instant messenger. Just Navigator and Mail installation will not be enough. And it rocks.. Free email account with no ads.. And about the New modern theme, it is already in the package, View->Apply theme->Modern.

I just have a few comments regarding netscape 6.1/mozilla.
Standard compliance : Netscape is the most standard complaint browser out there, even the internet explorer 6.0 beta fails to render pages correcly. For example just go to W3 CSS page and compare the pages rendered my mozilla/ns and ie. Note the position of the toolbar as you scroll down the page in both browsers. Also you can choose alternate stylesheets on that site using View->Use Stylesheet
Speed : Performance is comparable to that of IE now.. If you want faster than IE browsers use Galeon or skipstone which are based on mozilla
UI issues : Unfortunately mozilla/ns does not support some features which used to work in NS4.x.
Dynamic Font issues bugs 52746
Ugly list items ON LINUX 91816
I have never seen a buggiest software like mozilla ever !! The number of pending bugs in mozilla have grown up that mozilla cannot even load the list of bugs...
There is a bug in loading list of bugs

I fail to understand why people are making so much of noice over Redhat 7.0 bugs. Does any one of you remember the first release of kernel 2.2. It was version 2.2.0 and was marked as unusable by Linus himself because of the show-stopper problem. Red Hat problems are nothing compared to that !! Remember how much effort was gone in from making 2.2 release (It took approx 2 years after 2.0 if my memory is right) and still it had problem in the first release !! This is nothing new in the open source world..
I have been waiting for a long time for my next phone - Nokia running on Android ..
Just look at these threads and see how Sony is pissing off its customers:

Let me submit news that before anyone does.
Did you mean to say Jesus Khrist?
How about having a slashdot poll for the best joke, I guess the award should go to Qt-Console, at least it got some people compile and run it ..
Finally our onion gets some real competition (from slashdot).
It looks like so, searching for rootkit yields this, No responses to your query.
You missed the crucial one, there is "core dumped", between yes and unmount
you need to cut and paste the url .. they are blocking query directly from slashdot .. http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95849
Once this bug is fixed in mozilla, you dont need to go to slashdot or thinkgeek for love..
Does it have the following ?
1. Translucent menus
2. Antialiased text
3. Drag and drop between consoles
4. Themes
5. Tabbed windows for browsing
If not I am going to stick with mozilla on my 33MHz Pentinum.
