We had high speed internet in both forms CABLE AND ADSL before anywhere in the states did. Playing quake was so fun back then being a low-ping bastard and rocket-raping the world over.
All we need up here now tho is to follow suit of USA cel phone companies and start giving us some of that 50 dollar anytime long distance plans. Canadian cel phone companies rip us off left and right. There is no such thing as a nationwide long distance plan, atleast not with Rogers. And there is no way to check your minutes. Canadian CEL phone companies need standards.
Anyway, so Rogers/Bell will have wireless internet access available. This will sure make automation a lot easier.

Even being a computer newb I never trusted the company or the player and managed for 5 years to never instal or watch a REAL video. Quite happily. Then in 2000 I was bored, REALLY BORED. And thought i'd give it a shot to watch a video. After watching it Real associated itself with every file extension possible. It loaded everytime I restarted the computer. The player I did instal sucked ass and you had no control of the stopping or starting of it. I dont even remember but it just felt like I had installed a virus on my machine.
And thats why I have no desire at all to give a shit about this video. Despite my overwhelming interest in the subject.
Slashot being the flagship for the geek community should realize this and never link to anything that is REAL.
If a city is created on earth and is self contained and self sustantiating. Then if it can be launched from Earth, it could be a self sustainable colony. It could be a good way to move life to the moon or mars and begin terraforming.

Spielberg realized its more than a "toy movie". Theres a 9 million year backstory and mythology. There are tons of highly original and ingenious concepts in both design and story.
Were talking about an alien race that used their robots as slaves. Even after the robots began to gain sentience. Those robots ran their slavemasters off the planet and evolved into their own species, with their own wars.
Think of the machines in "The Matrix" having 9 million years to evolve and then those robots going to another planet that hasn't yet been conquered by machine based life. And you have Transformers the movie.
It always is annoying when someone spouts their opinion over and over again as if its fact.
Id hasn't lost its crown, they still have Carmack. Id has made an awesome engine. Its nothing to dog. Ids games, even at their highpoints always had flaws. But the engines were the real power.
I can text on my phone sometimes just as fast as a keyboard because it remembers words that I type and it finds the most likely word im going after and fills in the blanks.
the lame thing is that those things are impossible to read. And they use fonts that are entirely unlegible even before splattering it with jibberish overtop.
Canadas getting a lot warmer. Vancouver has had one day of snow (and a small sprinkle at that) in the last two years. Where as ten years ago school would get snowed out quite often and it would snow for months. The summers are great too!
I used a software for a while called Active Desktop Calender it was quite interesting. A calender sat on your desktop overlayed on top of your desktop and would show you the day and which days had tasks or appontments and what they were.
Id be using it now but I dont have a computer of my own.
What I mean by that is, everytime we consider ourselves to be at the center of anything, we're wrong.
We aren't on the center of our planet cause its not a floating disk. We're in the center of our solar system, cause we orbit the sun instead of the opposite. We're way off from the center of the galaxy aswell. Yet there's been times when we believed it all revolved around us.
When I say universe I simply mean that which we as humans consider to be the entirety of existence. Which by popular scientific belief happens to be that which was the result of the "big bang". Even after all the lessons weve learnt from the history of human beliefs. Some people still seem to try and imply that "the big bang" created the only universe. When it would only be natural to assume that the birth of universes could be equally as abundant as the galaxies created within them.

I should also add that 3 years ago when Dreamwave did a Transformers comic that comic became the number one selling comic for the next year.

How bout a video game that ties in with the movie.
What they should do is plan next seasons tv series to tie into the movie.
so far the best navigation i've found for 3d space would be what I have set up for Quake.
Mouse for orbiting your direction and kyboard to move you along your chosen axis.
If the 3D desktop was here today thats how i'd have it setup.
For now there is definitely ways to speed things up by using keyboard shortcuts but the mouse can save you from A LOT of tabbing.
