I think the "not a botnet" comes from the fact that there is no malware involved and the servers are not under the control of the attacker.
Well, see, I am basically arguing that the second part of your statement is incorrect. The attacker can get these machines to do exactly what he wants, exactly when he wants it to happen.
If they could just update the processor, solid state drive, and ram every year or so, that would be all I would ask for.
That’s how I felt about the 2015 13” MacBook Pro... but you saw what they did to that product line.
Based on recent history - if they do update the Air, you’ll probably see
- Newer generation processor, but clocked the same - “Upgraded” to the new crap keyboard they’re putting in every Mac laptop now - One Thunderbolt 3 port - No SD Card slot - No headphone jack - A four-minute Jony Ive video telling you how great it is that they’ve removed most of the functional ports and dumped the better keyboard.
Most times an Ambulance isn't required. I don't see a problem here. If they choose an Uber over an ambulance, that's their chose.
And if you're going to the hospital due to a communicable disease, you've now shared that disease with your Uber driver and the next half-dozen passengers.
Chrome now makes you jump through hoops to enable Flash for a site - so of course usage has declined precipitously. When it was enabled by default, all those Flash objects an any random web page would load. Now it's only going to be when a person actually wants access to Flash.
It's slightly annoying for me simply because I only use Chrome when I specifically need to access a site which still uses Flash. But for people who routinely enjoy giving Google all their - er, I mean, prefer to use Chrome as their daily driver - this is a good thing.
I see it somewhat differently. If Animoji and AR emoji are really what passes for cutting edge new features that differentiate flagship phones now, it means there’s very little reason to upgrade your phone anymore - unless it breaks.
It seems potentially interesting for an edge case... but I’d be curious to know how much web browsing actually happens on shared computers which still have individual accounts (excepting family computers).
But moreoever Trump ran as a left wing populist. He promised Health Care for all, Jobs for all, good pay for all.
Nonsense. Trump ran as the blowhard know-it-all, holding court and solving all the world’s problems from his usual barstool down at the local watering hole... and it worked.
And on the face of it, based on what I've seen from particular (and blessedly former) coworkers, I believe this woman. But, with this lawsuit, I have some problems because of this paragraph:
"Lee’s superior and the firm’s human resources department learned of that incident and repeatedly tried persuading her to officially report the alleged groper, but she resisted out of fear of being ostracized as an “informer,” she claims. After she was written up for being uncooperative, she relented and reported the man, but HR found her claims “unsubstantiated,” according to the suit."
So the impression I get is that she wasn't reporting any of these incidents.
I do understand why someone might be uncomfortable reporting these problems... but, if you're not at least documenting them at the time they occur or - better - filing complaints as they happen... then you should be SOL.
HOAs often restrict house color and what plants you are allowed to put in a border - and even where the border can be! AND, at least in my state, a seller doesn’t have to tell you what the rules of the HOA are... or even if one exists!
And you’re worried about antennas... I’d worry about them deciding to regulate how much air you’re allowed to breathe.
Fortunately it’s usually easy to spot the domains of these pathetic little martinets - just look for the neighborhoods where every house is a slightly different shade of beige.
Unless the USA and other nations are prepared to invest in more powerful and secure standards for what is supposed to be a very easily scanned and robust technology, I'm afraid that I don't see how they can be made more secure.
The point isn’t to make passports truly secure in the eyes of a technically literate person - the point is to make them “secure” within the level of understanding posessed by the average politician.
You know - the men and women who believe we can have “secure” smartphones which are completely and readily accessible to law enforcement personnel but no one else.
Didn't this store just open a few weeks ago? Check back in a year before calling it a "big success". While it may turn out to be one, right now it's just a curiosity.
I understand that... but that nerdy “tech bent” can sometimes get in the way of pragmatically selecting the best tool for the job.

Right there you’ve eliminated 95% of the applicable software.
Do you actually need to self-host, or is it just necessary due to your own philosophical predilections?
I some sense, these UDP servers are acting as a "botnet" even though they are not running any malware controlled by the hacker.
Well, if an external actor can force these machines to do their bidding at a time of their choosing - in what sense are they NOT part of a botnet?
I’m calling it - 27 months until Google discontinues Hangouts Chat.
Also, how many chat products does Google have now... twelve?

One inch bolt?! That’s why God created pennies...
Plus, no other sites will have us.
Who needs those stupid other sites with their holier-than-thou “be nice to people” and “you should bathe occasionally” attitudes...
Just like appletv in 2015

So the issue is that Amazon hasn’t developed a video app for the Nest thermostat but is trying to pretend it’s Nest’s fault?

Sharing means caring!

This recent article claims the the Apple TV 1,2,3 and 4 all run Kodi:
https://www.kodiinfopark.com/i...
Yeah, that article’s garbage. The ATV 3 section says “sorry, it doesn’t actually work but you can use AirPlay.”
By that logic, my Apple TV 3 can play DVDs natively...
I see it somewhat differently. If Animoji and AR emoji are really what passes for cutting edge new features that differentiate flagship phones now, it means there’s very little reason to upgrade your phone anymore - unless it breaks.
Now, get off my lawn.

You didn’t read my sig, I take it. Oh well, it’s a bad joke if it has to be explained...
You know what they say... if you want to be successful, model yourself after someone successful!

Before now, I’ve strongly disliked Nunez - but now I’m warming to him a little.

Sure, you got your money for nothin'... but did the exchange also let you get your chicks for free?
And me as well! I was thinking how smart I was to have deleted my Dropbox files about six months ago...
Does your HOA restrict antennas? A lot do, ...

Nearly half of children worry their parents are addicted to mobile devices.
