The new "Standard Tier" should offer performance comparable to what customers would experience through "other cloud providers"...
I love it when companies say stuff like this. "Sure, we'll let you buy this cheaper tier, which is good enough for the average schmuck... BUT if you pay us a premium over the basic amount, you'll get our EXTRA-SPECIAL SERVICE where we route your traffic through our CUSTOM NETWORK rubbed with CHEETAH BLOOD and your data will flow faster!"
People seem to think autonomous vehicles need to have a near-zero accident rate before they're an acceptable alternative to human-driven cars - which really doesn't make much sense.
For a while, not so long ago, one of their bloggers would submitl every post from their blog as a proposed Slashdot story. I got really tired of seeing medium.com all over the firehose (and even on the main page).
The Weather Channel app displays ads; and, while the app could stand a bit of UI tweaking in my opinion, their forecasts are supposedly top-notch (according to Professor Cliff Mass).
You might want to do some due diligence and see whether it makes sense to move your cloud backups elsewhere - or at least set up an account with a second backup provider. Businesses don't retrench for no reason - these guys may be in trouble.
And thank goodness the AMOLED screen means the device can get thinner - if there's one thing we need, it's a thinner phone.
I can't tell you how many times I've had my iPhone 6S in my pocket and thought "wow, this phone is just SO heavy and SO thick, I really hope I can drop $1200 on something thinner soon".
Disney movies, Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, everything on the Disney channel?
The previous rumors indicated Disney was exploring offering multiple streaming services, each of which would include only part of their catalog... I can't see that flying.
If it's all rolled into one channel, they very well might be successful. I won't be buying it, though - they don't have that much content, and I already own most of the Disney/Pixar/etc. titles that I care about.
I thought they were referring to leftovers. If so, this might be an improvement over the "Is it growing hair? If not, it's edible!" system some of us currently use.
You can actually, you know, go outside if you're bored.
No, thank you.
I decided to finally try that, earlier today. I stepped outside, but the sun got really dark... it was pretty scary. It was obviously a sign I should hightail it back to the safety of my couch.
Wondering out loud... are you SURE you want to believe an anecdote posted by an Anonymous Coward actually happened?
It just worked for my home wifi... and I'm in a fairly rural area.
It's like they accidentally left a joint in their mother's car.
I thought it was TINSTAAPP - There Is No Such Thing As A Pitching Prospect.
Oh wait... we aren't talking about baseball, are we?

Something already "goes wrong" - very wrong - with human-driven cars at the rate of greater than 30,000 times a year, just in the United States.
It seems likely that autonomous cars could lower that number significantly.

I'm a guy. I always have the remote in my hand. Can't let the wife have it, after all.
Well, I would think it's easier to hack a civilian ship than a warship - so I'd imagine they're considering that possibility as well.
This sounds like the basic plot from a half-dozen or so of the James Bond movies.
You'd think any business subscriber would also have the sense to subscribe to, and use, at least two such services....
Unfortunately, I've seen too many stories with a central theme of catastrophic business data loss to believe that.
You can block specific apps (or all apps) from running in the background on iOS...

It's faster to press a button a remote.

I work in IT - I got used to bad smells long ago.
I think there's a huge stash of "almost new" Samsung Galaxy Note 7 batteries that aren't being used now.
I've got a few crates of them stored away for winter. It's gonna slash my heating bill by 70%!

So I made two major mistakes today!

Oh a kid'll eat the middle of an Oreo first,
and save the chocolate cookie outside, for last!
(yes, I'm old)
Oh, sorry - wrong product placement.
