Obviously Apple would have liked to have it, but if they perceived it as the huge blow you suggest then they would have offered more. Perhaps they're wrong, but that's their position.
so their must be a way that a minor can enter into an agreement.
Yes there is. Exactly the same way as anyone else. They simply come to an agreement. Minors can enter into contracts. They can even do so without a parent or guardian signing or even knowing. The minor has extra rights in most contracts, including in many cases the right to cancel. It's for *that* reason that parents often have to agree. Not to protect the minor, but rather to protect the other party by waiving those additional rights.
Yep minors can enter a contract with a legal guardians knowledge.
A legal guardian's knowledge is not required. Any person can enter into a contract. Minors have extra rights, which might make it unwise for the other party to enter some contracts, but minors can and do make contracts every day.
you're right. realising that most people are stupid is depressing.
But even the smart people are not really all that bright. I've been lucky enough to be smart enough to make a good living using my brain. But I do stupid things all the time. So do you, I'll bet. Even the very smartest people do. If people were truly smart I'd be scrubbing toilets for a living.
Like turning away from a camera - that doesn't give you the right to run around and take a picture from the other side; the person has announced that he does not want to be taken pictures of.
When I was very young Gene Wolfe would occasionally come by the house, as he was friends with my parents. I knew he was a writer like my father, but being so young my only real recollection is that I thought he had a cool name.
A lot of vending machines are owned by small-time operators. Often semi-retired guys trying to make ends meet. You'll see them early in the morning at Costco loading up on items for that day's run. They split the revenue with the owner of the location of the machine. Not always, of course. The high-traffic locations get taken by the large operators, but there a lot of small-timers just trying to get by.
Sounds like you did a good thing. It's annoying that you cared more than the company, and some recognition and thanks would be nice, but then that's not why we do good things (at at least shouldn't be.)
ay is shy in Thai (heh). It sounds (pretty much) the same as shy without the sh.
I'm probably somewhere around the same level as you, though at times I can give the illusion of knowing quite a bit more. Apart from being unable to make certain sounds, I've been told my accent is reasonably good. But I was also once told I pronounce some words like a five year old boy would, so make of that what you will.:-)
Yeah, fuck that poor slob who owns the vending machine. He can afford it.
So what was your limit? If the owner had forgotten to lock it would you have taken all the contents? How about if someone had accidentally left a crow bar nearby? Would you have pried open the machine? What's the line you won't cross?
hahaha. Five hundred dollars? Fully subsidized? ha ha.That is the most expensive console in the world. And it doesn't appeal to business customers because it doesn't have a keyboard, which makes it not a very good email machine. Now it may sell a lot. I don't know. But we have our strategy. You can get an Ouya for $99, it's a very capable machine. I kinda look at that and I say well, I like our strategy. I like it a lot.
I don't see why. Open Source projects (and MariaDB is pretty solidly Free & Open Source...
The source code wouldn't be the problem. It depends on what was agreed in the sale. Surely some non-competes were signed. That's nearly automatic for any company buyout. Perhaps they have expired.
From my experience, Google has quite good customer support. But only for their customers!
Not in my experience. We were spending more than US$100,000 a year on adwords and we still struggled to get more than a boilerplate answer to any inquiries. And actually speaking with someone was completely out of the question.
What is magic if not simply something that we can't currently explain?
You're playing word games with yourself. Magic *is* your explanation, not the thing being explained. There is a distinct difference. You are fooling yourself.
Obviously Apple would have liked to have it, but if they perceived it as the huge blow you suggest then they would have offered more. Perhaps they're wrong, but that's their position.
I thought surely this would be a link to tentacle porn.
Well yeah. if they were it wouldn't be an analogy.

The vast majority of the people in the world don't want to fuck you. Get over it.

I'm not in favor of capital punishment, but I don't make up my own definitions to suit my opinion.
The "someone else was wrong about something else" argument is not a compelling one.
That's surprising. Do you have a source for that?
The wind is stronger at heights your pole can't reach.
It can be a bit obtuse at times.
When I was very young Gene Wolfe would occasionally come by the house, as he was friends with my parents. I knew he was a writer like my father, but being so young my only real recollection is that I thought he had a cool name.
I've heard that Gates is considering necrophiliac cannibalism just so he can finally say that Jobs has no taste.

I've wondered about ay and shy, but figured it's just coincidence.

And it's been anti-mitigated somewhat by Motorola losing huge chunks of money every quarter.

Yes, they're talking about how the ridiculous audience laughter makes it unwatchable.
Not in my experience. We were spending more than US$100,000 a year on adwords and we still struggled to get more than a boilerplate answer to any inquiries. And actually speaking with someone was completely out of the question.
It doesn't have to balance to be a threat and a deterrent. It doesn't even have to be close. A 90-10 ratio would suit the Li'l Dictator just fine.
