I have a really really good password that I use to get into my server at home. All other passwords are for random sites (like slashdot) and I use a very simple password for them. Does this make me 'bad at picking passwords', or do I simply not care if someone hijacks my slashdot account, ruining my excellent karma?
A good password is one that you don't mentally consider a word or string of words, as much as it is a dance that you do with your hands and fingers, really really fast.
You're right about how management should simply charge a fee to take care of the poo, spot on. And I wonder why they don't care about the urine, since it burns (kills) the grass. Also, dog poo isn't a good fertilizer at all.
The most alarming aspect to this article isn't the stupid robot that no one wants, but the fact that there's a company out there that's trying to build robots to replace people, on a per hour basis. I imagine places like Home Depot will want a robot to greet/answer questions, and perhaps The People would too. Hell, look at how self-checkout at Walmart is a hit.
He's found so may uses for mushrooms of all varieties that I'm sure if he had a chance to get some samples of what he needed to break down, he could find a much better way than this article explains. See his Ted talk.
That'd be fine with me. Fuck man, we're all trying to live a nice life whereby we can figure out what all this life stuff is about anyway, right? And so much money we currently have to gain in order to just pay simple bills, we get stuck working the whole time we're alive, wasting our lives away, simply trying to keep from being homeless.
If the government is willing to pony up the dollars to support the entire "crazy population" (and again, crazy because they don't agree with politicians) then I'll be the first in line to go to this holiday-retreat, er, I mean jail. All those rich people out there, working construction, farming, sewers-work, cleaning bathrooms, etc... all so the crazies stay in, what they'd call, "jail".
There are 1.24 billion people in India. If you give them each 1 US dollar you would feed them for maybe 7 days. And yet you could go to Mars 16 times for the same price. You tell me how that's irresponsible.
America has already had a few rovers on Mars. However right now the west is busy trying to take over the world, and war on terror, and healthcare dot gov, and insider-trading at the speed of light.
From another article:
"India's Mars mission, with a budget of $73 million, is far cheaper than comparable missions including NASA's $671 million Maven satellite that is expected to set off for Mars later in November,"
It's crazy to think that 1.24 billion people are in India. They could all pay $1.00 (that's like 40 rupees) and go to Mars 16 times. American's have to pay $2 (that's 80 rupees) each, per trip.
India is like another planet. I had the opportunity to live in India in 1996-1997 and work heavily with Indians. They are such a pleasure to work with (I was working in agriculture) and things go by so softly over there (in Chennai - Manapakkam - at least). I remember thinking that, it felt how I assume it felt in America back in the 40's. I hope that India is able to weave itself into a respectable position with other first-world countries, even if only for the first-world country's sake - for the sake of remembering how to work together as a team for a noble cause.
They can and they will. You (and the owner) are deluding themselves that they cannot.
I understand your point, and I agree. However I think you misunderstood me, because that's not what I'm talking about. I know that if someone wants to, they can shoot me in the face with a gun. However, I do like the fact that many places do not allow guns. It stops people from walking around with AR15s like it's a war-zone. I do know that some people conceal a handgun regardless.
So it's not that I think that 'rules are always followed and so these rules are grrrrate!', but rather I like that the rule exists at all. Much like the (ridiculous) headline, a lot of people don't like barefooted people or people with no shirts on in places where they want to dine.
The review could only legally iterate that they were given a choice to leave or remove the device. If you were like me, and liked the fact that people cannot be looking through google glass (and all of the endless possibilities that will eventually be implemented into these devices, like facial recognition, etc...) at me while I try to eat, and/or be social and enjoy public atmosphere, then such a review turns me onto the place.
I got modded into flamebait (I guess I'll simply have to stop commenting on Snowden leaks), but you provided a good response. Thank you for the explanation.
Man, ok... I'm so tired of this Snowden Spooling of news that I'm about to vomit. It's not going to be long before I myself go on a snowden-hunt/rampage, just to get all of the goddamned info finally. It appears that his way of dealing with news that affects us all is similar to playing all sides. So the world has been taken hostage, and/or is being used as a bargaining chip it appears. After all, how the hell do we know that information isn't being used as a blackmail device, and if the government's don't pay up, then RELEASE!
Who cares that now the Dutch government hacks internet forums. Does their local police abuse power? Are their people nervous all the time, waiting for the next "Snowden Revelation"? Are there any Dutch folks on slashdot that could tell us a bit about your impression of this article? And if so, could you also let us know to what degree 'The People' of Holland fear their government?
Man, I guess they were testing or something, but for a while, "slashdot.org" was redirecting to "beta.slashdot.org". All I could really make out was this "New Windows XP Zero-Day Under Attack" Headline and thought that something was wrong with either my PC or the site.
But maan that new layout sucks balls. I hope they don't go through with it.
Just exactly how does a DHS rent-a-cop get access to her medical records?
I've seen a few stories lately about a US governmental agency that is illegally tapping the internet, in an effort to fight terrorism. I've also seen a lot of people pissed about it, something about false-positives. Dunno.
I don't mean to jump in defense of that dude, and I'm not trying to troll. But what many Americans are experiencing as 'hatred for America', isn't hatred, but, in my opinion, a way of processing what's going down. Eventually, once Americans become united again, like back in the good ole days, things will be better. If you feel that Americans will not be united again, then that is a problem to be overcome.
Yes! I feel that the governing body in place now is trying, for whatever reason - I'm sure it's money in the end, to do something like what sometimes is done to a spouse, where spouse1 is neglectful, mean or anything to get spouse2 to slip up and do something wrong (cheat?) that would allow for a divorce in spouse1's 'favor'. Of course in this case, it's not a divorce, but rather marshal law, whereby the president in place cannot be removed from office, and gets a lot of power suddenly.br>
Of course I could be wrong.
It's not just a philosophy. If everyone raised their children to 'take whatever you can get out of life, regardless how', then would they all win?
Of course not. I'll share a youtube video with you, I hope I'm not being lame. But in order for everyone to win, we all have to not only be honest, but also respectful. In this way, respect and honesty are directly tied together. And now for the video
Here's a list of manufacturers that had to do big recalls in 2013, found here:
-November 26: 139,917 Ford Escape vehicles from 2013, Recalled for potential oil leaks that may cause an engine fire.
-November 18: 707,176 Chrysler vehicles from 2003-2008, including RAM 2500 4X4 and RAM 1500 Mega Cab 4X4 models, Recalled for the left tie rod assembly, which may break, causing a loss of steering.
-November 18: 265,044 Chrysler RAM 2500 4X4 and 3500 4X4 vehicles from 2008-2012, Recalled for the left tie rod assembly, which may break, causing a loss of steering.
-November 4: 344,187 Honda Odysseys from 2007-2008, Recalled for software that may cause the sudden application of the brakes without the brake lights going on, increasing the risk of a crash.
Not all are due to fire, but all are potentially fatal, and much higher number of cars recalled.

...ever gone into the anechoic chamber, on weeeed?
before some wise-guy points it out, I did in fact mean to say mycelium instead of mushrooms.

Do they take codes, methods, skills with them and work in the same way?
It appears possible that they do. How do we know that Snowden isn't doing exactly that.
Was that your point? I didn't really pick up what you were putting down.
They can and they will. You (and the owner) are deluding themselves that they cannot.

Or married to one?
Or girls that wouldn't care either way.

You lick it. It detects your tongue (much like a finger-print reader) and does a DNA analysis. Not that I've built one.
That link isn't what I meant to link to. It was supposed to go to http://beta.slashdot.org./
