Do you think the government should be able to retrieve your private conversations on an analyst's "hunch"?

Not at all, I think the whole thing is total bullshit, beyond expression and pushes the bounds of humanity itself. However That means nothing to anyone but me, maybe some others. What our government needs is some small, no matter how small, reason to point a finger. Don't forget, the whole war in Iraq started because of a "hunch". And they found out that that hunch was wrong. Well... the wars (yes wars) machine keeps on turning, brother.

...so unless you think the government has a secret back door into every encryption algorithm...

Seriously, why are The People trying to play Spy vs Spy with their own government? The government owns the internet. It's as silly to encrypt your license plate as it is your text messages. You have no way to do so. If you're able to send a text, then you're using a carrier of some kind. That carrier has no control over the government's ability to get the data if the government wants to. Remember, it's metadata that we're talking about. "Who talked to who - and what time(s)". Linking people together is what it's all about. They don't need to know what you're talking about, so long as they know who you're talking to.

Of course there should still be fine-tuning of the process, but the man-power needed has been quite reduced.

I know what you mean, and trust me, I was prepared for the worst. I'm no fan of the way that they've done it, at. all. I figured that I'd have to pay twice what I've been paying, as was first told to me by Blue Cross. But it ended up that I qualified for a tax credit that lowered the cost significantly.

I would be pissed if I had to pay $800 per month for health coverage, when I go to the doctor (a total of) 6 times per year for a family of 4. Not to mention I would have had to pay, out of pocket, $3,000 a year before insurance 'starts'. I totally understand, and sympathies with those that are on the "losing" side of this. These prices are ridiculous, and the fact that it's being forced, only serves to amplify. And the truth is, that there are far more "poor" people than there are "rich" people. Simply doubling the cost for the rich isn't going to even out the balance.

The result will be that people are less likely to want to be a doctor in order to get rich.

I'm paying less than a thousand dollars for insurance per year. This doesn't include dental (I have a dentist buddy that does work for free) however, and my 2 children are going to be on medicaid (free). So the plan is really just for my wife and I. No lie, we're broke and the government has set things up to where rich folks are paying for the medical insurance of the poor.

I have a family of 4 and we'll end up paying $74.00 per month for Blue Cross Silver plan. It's better than what I have right now through Blue Cross, and I've been paying $400 a month for it.

Seriously you'd think by now... the artists as a collective would have created their own distribution service and raked in the dough.

The band Tool does that for themselves, but to do it for other artists... dunno, that seems weird. I imagine that, like so many other groups of people, bands simply can't focus on 2 aspects of the industry. Making music as well as focusing on releasing that music on a scale that exceeds 1 band's tunes would eventually be to tiresome. I mean to say that at some point the sheer volume of music that had to be "delivered" to The People would require a full-time group of people that would have to get some cut of the cash. From there it's bound to evolve in the same manner that it's currently in, to some degree, where the artists feel that they're not getting a fair cut. After all, the more bands there were to contribute music, the more "cut" there is, and eventually, those spending time "delivering" music will be making more than the artists making the music.

So I've gotta ask, what would stop someone from doing this same thing on either side. On one side, you've got those that could hijack your parrot using the same tactics that you are using to hijack the drone. On the other side, whatever you do to protect your parrot, could be implemented to protect the drone, right? Am I missing something? Also, what's to stop parrots from buzzing around doing the same "evil" that Google did with wireless routers.

In a way I feel like a lesbian trapped in a man's body

In my opinion, our physical bodies are a mere reflection to a higher order of being that we do not consciously experience. Our very fiber of being manifests here physically, as there appears to be no other place to do so:) I don't think that this higher order of things has a "sex" to it as we commonly understand here in the physical realm. I think that the only word that we could use to define what you and I both appear to be trying to understand would be "direction", but in a different dimension, or realm. As we improve in our technology, we'll make more discoveries about the physical realm and how it relates to consciousness itself, and in doing so, we'll understand the differences between men and women. As it stands, we are left to contemplate these things. However I think it's an interesting question to pose: "How much would we procreate if the idea of 'sexes' were removed?" Like, how would you cope with "a dude with a vagina"? Or "a woman with a penis"? Right now, we need to be aroused by different things in order to procreate, and that arousal is subjective.
