Your post was better than what I had in mind, which was going to be something like... "What? So THAT'S what the 1% are doing these days? Times are tough all over, I guess."
I took the time to sift through the responses here.
There were only three or four which didn't get pulled into the tar ball debate over whether execution is morally okay. -Which actually paused to question the media and the official story.
What is it with Slashdotters? Why do so many take the news at face value, like it's an actual representation of truth? Even the most cursory investigation leads to ample reason to doubt the official version. Heck, it stinks to high heaven!
It could be that it's not really as bad as it seems; after all, this whole thread is awash in Anonymous posts spurring this idiotic debate over whether to execute or not, which silently asserts that the base assumptions are correct. Herd instincts definitely have the effect of compelling people to go along with the prevailing bullshit when enough sheep are perceived to be bleating, -and on such a momentous day as the announcement of absolute guilt and a pending execution, you can be sure the CIA and other letter-soup agencies with skin in this game will be using their licensed copies of "manage a bunch of sockpuppet social media accounts to sway public opinion" software to the max. They'd be fools not to, albeit evil fools.
For the rest of us with working grey matter, here's a look at some of the problems with the official story:
Also, the dude was sick; hearing voices. Assuming he acted without being handled by agents, (Hahaha, right, but let's assume), are we saying that we're into executing mentally ill people now?
How is it possible that Bill Gates, (the guy we turned into a Borg icon), gets a free pass on Slashdot?
Bill Gates, at some point in his career, decided that the way forward was to reduce our numbers, dumb us down through poison food and drugs, and prepare for the apocalypse with seed banks.
He's not a dummy. He knew exactly what Common Core would do. It was designed from the get-go to create stupid, compliant people and to crush the opposition. (The "opposition" being every other system which might compete with an alternative system of social control including our own, ie., Free Will. He's always been about the meta-game, the subversion and control of reality through sneaky, system-wide hacks and manipulations.
So now he's graduated from the engineering of software to the engineering of social order.
Sorry, but I don't want Bill Gates thinking of me and my family and friends as part of some armchair theory he feels compelled to tinker with.
Imagine the back door dealings bonanza the anti-privacy industry will provide.
Just look at the nuclear missiles rotting away in staffed-by-stoners facilities today. The government may (MAY) be sort of secure, keeping your info available only for high level thugs to play with, (the kind of people who steal your money with much more sophisticated schemes than robbing you of your wallet), but one day some lame hood with tattoos on his neck will be helping himself.
I know this is very upsetting for you, and you're probably a good person because you care about your planet. That's a good thing.
But you're missing the point.
We're being hystericized into ignoring the real issue.
The planet is entering another extinction cycle, and like all the others before it, it has nothing to do with automotive exhaust. The uptick in seismic activity and solar system changes indicates the beginning of another series of major cataclysms due to much larger changes than we little humans can claim responsibility for or have any control over.
The hysteria around carbon emissions, to make us think it's all our fault, is to prevent us from killing our leaders. -It always happens. With these events, throughout history, when the appointed fail to appease the gods, we kill them and appoint new leaders. It seems to be baked into our DNA and herd thinking. The 1% knows this on an instinctive level and they are trying to distract us.
In conjunction with this, the planet is coming under a global police lockdown; it's happening right now. We've got the first stages of a home-grown color revolution being crafted before our eyes. -Designed to render an excuse to lock us up before we kill our leaders. We have Walmarts being quietly recommissioned by the military for use as command centers in anticipation of some serious problems right around the corner.
This is the real story.
You're strong enough to swear at me and point out nonsense numbers, but are you strong enough to pause and to look at the problem from the perspective I'm suggesting?
Not that it matters.
Ice ages and comet impacts are indiscriminate killers. You can be wrong and self-righteous and still get flattened. Personally, I'd like to have my eyes open and my brain clear of lies when that happens. A little dignity goes a long way.
The point, which should be jumping out at anybody reading this stuff, isn't the C02 levels. I really am not interested in C02 levels. I don't think they have much to do with anything.
What stands out for me is that the Earth and the Solar System are currently doing a *lot* of strange, big and noisy things. -Things which have nothing to do with SUVs or exhaust pipes.
The fact that *those* things are occurring right at the same time our climate is changing should strike people as significant. Don't you think?
You should.
But most people really don't want to go there. Because we can pretend that we're in control if we believe we're to blame for the climate changes via exhaust pipes. If it's something bigger, then.., well, we're just powerless bugs scurrying for cover.
This has happened many times before. Cyclical disaster is a real thing, and we're here again.
But this is different! Yes, it's two years late, but it's March of 2015. So that means... What does that mean exactly?
It means that Batman v.s. Superman will be the top-grossing film of 2015! (For July 18th only. From 8PM to 10:30PM. In New Jersey.)
Aside from the hysteria button being pushed enough to have rubbed off the "H" from its now highly polished surface, can we consider two things?
1. There has been a huge uptick in volcanic activity in the first half of this year. Seriously; there's been more eruptions than in any previous year on record, and the year isn't even half-way over. -Aside from the inherent weirdness alarm *that* should set off (in conjunction with solar changes and the continuing rise in comet activity), can we please pause to wonder if maybe all that extra ash in the atmosphere might possibly be related?
No? Of course not. Check out the level of spin required to make the problem of too many exploding mountains go away.
https://earthtrembling.wordpre...
Bravo. That's insane.
But who am I to get in the way somebody's well-crafted delusions?
That's the sound of the propaganda successfully landing your brain like a flopping trout onto the shore and whacking it with a big whackin' stick.
The fiction of needing to "interrogate" is a joke. The so-called terrorists were all monitored, selected, funded, trained and directed by Western intelligence agencies in the first place. They know more than their proxy soldiers do. They just torture because they like to hurt people. They get off on it. They also get off on twisting normal people into accepting it as normal and required. Perverting the innocent.
The purpose behind this whole stage drama of "terrorism" is to acquire fascist powers so that they can more easily feed on the world through official means. The psychopaths in charge fully intend to abuse their powers. To extend their reach and reduce the chance of being caught and punished while they go about their sickness.
For instance, it is reported that more than 60% of children "rescued" by child protective services are trafficked for sex within 48 hours of entering the system.
That's based on current energy prices and an assumption of continued reliable service. I'm not convinced the world is nearly stable enough to put those eggs in one basket.
Should money suddenly lose its value, it would be nice to have something which doesn't rely on grid power.
Though, you don't have to spend $13,000 plus expenses to get on solar in a meaningful way. Depending on how you manage your energy needs, it could be done for a fraction of that cost.
Sadly, conspiracy is pretty much the only substance you can definitively weigh these days when it comes to any socio-economic-political theory.
The rest is spin and bullshit.
At least with conspiracy, we have a reliable starting point; that is, we *know* there are plenty of self-interested shitheads who will happily lie for profit and self-advancement. Somebody is buying those millions of Ayn Rand books. Would you trust those people to inject your baby with untested drugs?
Look up herd immunity. The problem isn't that your child is vaccinated and theirs isn't. therefore your child is safe and theirs isn't... it doesn't work that way. Vaccines are not 100%. And in fact rely on herd immunity to reach higher numbers. If for some reason a vaccine doesn't work in 1% of children, (maybe a bad batch of the vaccine, or something in that child's chemistry made the vaccine not work or any number of reasons), those 1% are still vulnerable to the disease vaccinated. Now you take that 1% and put it in a (for arguements sake 70% vaccinated) group. 31% of the people they meet have the potential to carry the disease. now insert 1 person with the disease. that person has a 31% chance of interacting with someone who is vulnerable to the disease. and that person has a 31% chance, and so on and so forth. that is how disease spreads. now you have a 95% immunized herd (1% for whom the vaccine doesn't work and another 4% who can't be vaccinated due to comprimized immune system. now that 1 person with the disease only has a 5% chance of getting it, and so on and so forth, greatly reducing the impact of the outbreak.
Your logic works well on paper.
Problem is, you are trusting psychopaths to do the right thing. They don't. They can't. If you figure into your equations that all of your data is twisted, spun, poorly representative of the actual facts, or just plain old made up, then it stops looking good on paper.
Real life is full of liars, profiteers, professional peer pressure, overburdened doctors, well-funded public relations experts without ethics, and scientists fully aware that speaking out against the popular trends is professional suicide. -And it is also full of authoritarian zealots who are too afraid to consider the possibility that something might be wrong, or if they do consider, they use every cognitive trick available to downplay the problem and brush it away in favor of some make-believe utopian ideal which does not and cannot exist; zealots so committed to their sacred cows that they threaten to actually BOMB people who do not submit to their beliefs.
Those are the facts, Jack.
If you really wanted to know what was going on, you'd explore, dig and learn. And you'd discover that you're currently living in dream where all the authority figures are nice people with no selfish, cowardly agendas and that the science is vetted, safe and effective.
Nice dream. Looks good on paper. But it's just that. A dream.
And I am sorry. I really am. The most rabid pro-vaxxers really are terrified; they go white in the face and lose sleep when they consider the horrifying truth.
It is, (or should be) obvious that every aspect of our world is corrupt and broken, from banking to food and energy production, to education, to law enforcement, to news and media, to the core democratic and bureaucratic processes upon which the country is based. To think that the pharmaceutical industry is exempt from this is evidence of an almost sublime level of denial and/or ignorance. Self-calming.
And sadly, the problems when you begin to explore and dig, are a *lot* worse than you or most people can even begin to guess. Right back at the very beginning, Edward Jenner was a worthless, lazy, manipulative worm of a sociopath who conned a respected doctor into advancing his career, a little shit who learned how to play the legal system and the base hungers and emotions of the similarly pathological political world into enforcing the sale and application of his snake oil on the population. His legacy lives on today.
We're living in a world run by pathological leaders and corrupt corporations which is seriously talking about using force to inject people with drugs. Think about that. If you blow off everything else, then at least give a few seconds to that thought please, because yes, you recognize it. It is a plot right out of a sci-fi dystopian novel, and you are supporting it while calling everybody else's judgement into question.
If I were waging a propaganda war against Russia, (and we are; it is ferocious, filled with an utterly astonishing amount of crap; hell, the entire Western media coverage of the last Olympic games was one giant psychological warfare operation.)
Given that, then this little article is *exactly* the kind of spoof I'd publish. Not saying it isn't truthful. Maybe it is. But it could very easily be a complete or partial fabrication. It has the same flavor as that "Incubator Babies" lie packaged and sold by the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador posing as a refugee before a congressional committee, and all packaged up neat and tidy by American PR firm, Hill & Knowlton.
And why not? That kind of shit is incredibly effective. If you use the "who benefits" measure to determine the likelihood of a story being a fabrication, then this one stinks to high heaven. -It casts doubt on any of the counter-arguments Russia might present in defense of itself against many of the ludicrous claims of the West. I mean, how many times has the West claimed that Russia has "invaded" Ukraine? FFS.
Seriously. Would this kid be allowed to report on his psy-ops activities were he really what he claims? Would an intelligence operation really not be able to vet this kid's past political leanings? He's an internet child, for goodness sake. According to the propaganda, the Russian secret services should render this kind of leak next to impossible. So which is it? Is Russia a fascist empire or a clown show incapable of controlling a bunch of trolls for hire? You can't have it both ways. Unless you're dumb.
And how dumb are we?
Well, just look at the number of people posting today who have taken for granted that this article represents reality.
So one way or another, this astroturfing bullshit works.
For those who want to work out what is *really* going on, you need to do three things:
1. Take the time to listen, read and sift through the media.
2. Measure the claims against the samples of objective reality you can distill.
3. (And this is the most important one) Remember past behavior patterns of the players involved and use those recollections in your calculations. Psychopaths who have lied and manipulated once will not suddenly be truthful and honest just because today is a new day.
-This message brought to you by a completely unpaid Western idiot who should really be working right now but is instead wasting time throwing useless punches at a tidal wave of bullshit.
Hill and Knowlton earned a reported 10 million for their efforts which sent us to war. I'm trying to scrape a few bucks together for my next rent check. Go America.
This isn't about logic or the evolution of medicine or science. It's not about rational progression. Thus your observations have no bearing on anything, (which is a shame, because they are both accurate and profound in their simplicity).
The whole debate over homeopathy and similar is pinned to something else entirely. Obedience.
People have been trained from birth to obey their authorities; teachers, parents or government officers. The training program is immersive, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary experience designed to create docility and strip away imagination and incompatible personal goals.
With many people, the training program works.., with others, it doesn't work as well. In some few others, it fails altogether.
Those who have been successfully trained have as part of their installed "operating system" an instinctive need to attack those around them who they observe as failing to be sufficiently obedient. It's part of the system's built-in self regulation.
Facts, logic, science, research, etc., are for the well-trained little more than props and devices paid lip service to, but actually only used in earnest when doing so cannot threaten the official stance of the favored authority. Truth, like people, is expected to be obedient, and will be tortured into the correct posture should it fail to obey the demands of the authorities. This behavior is automatic.
This is why nobody will ever 'win' a debate with an Authoritarian; they are interested in only two things: 1) Following the strongest leader, and 2) justifying this in their minds as Right and Proper through any means possible.
It actually hurts when their subjective beliefs appear to fall apart. The brain registers pain. When they successfully spin the cognitive dial to re-arrange some facts, ignore others, (and generally bullshit themselves) into believing once more that their authorities are Right and Proper, the reward centers are activated, not just activating a calming sensation, but an actual pleasure rush.
Truth hurts, lies feel good.
This is why debate with authoritarians is pointless. We have different objectives. One side is trying to isolate Truth, (which can often be a painful job), while the other side is merely seeking pleasure while avoiding pain. The best you can hope to see in an authoritarian is a dauntless display of cognitive contortion.
But I'm guessing you probably know that. I'm just feeling expository at the moment, pointing it out for the incidental reader.
This story only proves that Hollywood has more influence than god over people's beliefs and actions.
-It's too bad the satellite lab didn't have a surplus of giant yellow barrels of explosive fluid stacked conveniently among the servers like they are in the movies.
As it stands, the unique signal weakly broadcast from the chip on my credit card can be tracked from orbit. And General Keith B. Alexander, even retired from the NSA, remains the kind of lying sack of shit who learned how to do so while looking you straight in the eyes.
Martyring himself could have a significant effect on the world level of "mad as hell and not going to take it".
If the right level of media attention is given to this negotiation, it could become a flashpoint, and play in Russia's favor while critical geo-political wrangling is currently being decided. BRICS or Petro Dollar? Russia could use a win in the crazy propaganda battle being waged against it.
Discussions could reveal pandemic corruption problems, and right now, I can't think of any high-profile, world-respected U.S. citizen martyrs America has to worry about galvanizing world opinion against it.
But I'd just as soon not see Ed take that bullet. His suffering would be immense.
Anybody who is dead set against astrology has never bothered to explore it beyond the newspaper entertainment section and various skeptical papers claiming to disprove it. *Never* at the subject itself. That's a plain, simple truth.
The critics of astrology choose to play it safe and lazy, attacking from the side. "Confirmation bias!" "Cold reading!" "I don't need to look because I already know!"
Yes, yes. People can be tricked, this is true. -But you're still a biased coward playing at pretend science with sacred 'truths' lodged in your brain. No. Hush. You really are.
Until you genuinely explore without bias, your opinion remains based purely on populist dogma and smarty-pants bluster. Those who look, truly look, inevitably come away stunned by the discovery that astrology is not all BS. But having to say, "Gosh! I was wrong," is too big a fear to face for most people when their sense of self-worth is so wrapped up in their long-stated opinions.
That being said...
When I think of commercial/government policy being involved in alternative medicine, I get cold shivers. It's alternative precisely because the main stream is so limited in certain areas. (Not all.)
Big pharma is collectively one of the shadiest cons currently running.
Thank-you for providing this clarification. It was appropriate and useful.
I would like to offer my own clarification, though; I was already aware of the points you raised, and they do not invalidate the thrust of my post, (slightly cheeky as it may be).
Knowing which side your bread is buttered on doesn't change just because you might have mentioned it in the credits.
Dr. Soon not mentioning it was foolish; a wet dream for the AGW folks, and one which makes it easy to ignore the main problem I described here and in more detail a few comments further up.
Fortunately, even as the debate rages on, Reality will have the final say. -Something along the lines of, "Splat".
Nearly every paper I've ever seen touting the safety of Vaccines was authored by people who benefit from Big Pharma funding.
That conflict of interest is, however, not a problem with many of the people who will be posting here today.
You can have sacred cows and trust people who are not trust-worthy, but the penalty is that you invariably end up believing lies. Sacred Cows are easy; they are symbols representing the hard work of performing deep, informed thought. People inherit Sacred Cows, they borrow them, or have them forced into their psyches, -and they use them in lieu of doing the work themselves. -Not the "work" of diligent, parent and teacher approved bible-study or official classroom curriculum, but rather the frightening work. The work which can hurt if you are not sufficiently prepared and graceful in spirit, in social confidence. -The kind where you cast aside your assurances and prepare yourself to be uncertain, to be reviled, to be wrong as you set out to explore.
There are many rewards for worshiping a Sacred Cow; It is easier than the alternative. It is socially rewarded. A Sacred Cow ensures you receive Love and Acceptance while indulging your Laziness and your Fear of standing where others kneel. -The essential nature of a false god.
The problem is that deep, informed thought is an open-ended process. It doesn't stop. Sacred Cows imply that all the work has been done, that it is right, and that there is no need to revisit a puzzle with renewed examination, even when new, intriguing information comes to light. In this way, Sacred Cows become impediments to knowledge. They shut down thinking and thus are responsible for all manner of social ills.
The only way to determine what is actually happening out there is to be committed to continual, open thinking. To look not just at the claims, but at the people making them, at their motivations. -Not to pawn off the work you need to do onto a newspaper, or a collective of other smart people, or authority figures, or popular consensus.
AGW is an interesting problem. The objective reality, as far as I have been able to discern the matter, happens to play nicely with the short term goals of some very nasty people who seek to control through the energy industry. That's unfortunate. But even though I don't like the oil industry moguls, it doesn't have any bearing on the objective reality.
It puts to the test the true grit of one's rational thinking centers.
It sucks that we can't fund science through neutral sources more readily. It's one of the big problems with science and the scientific method. It simply cannot be trusted unless you get personal with it. Anything which reaches the newspapers is likely going to be spun somehow.
Dr. Soon may even truly believe his science is valid, but the funding he receives creates a lopsided megaphone which unfairly skews the perception of the debate.
By the same token, all scientists who receive funding from the pharmaceutical industry or groups they influence, should be barred from publishing papers on vaccine safety.
I keep hearing that one; "Aliens wouldn't need anything we have."
Except they do. They tell us outright, via channeled sources, that, to put it simply, souls are valuable. "Chi" is real, and it enables life to live, think and do stuff, it comes in different qualities, and it can be harvested. But you need containers. Humans are those containers.
This is hardly a new concept; it's one which has filtered through human consciousness forever. From the bible to freakin' Jupiter Ascending. That doesn't happen for no reason. Same with the zombie fascination. Our subconsciouses are screaming at us through story.
-And we wouldn't be invaded or attacked by such a race, in the same way farmers don't invade or attack fields of corn or wheat.
I think this concept is one of the reasons materialists are so adamant about rejecting the concept of souls. The implications can be just too upsetting.
-That is, people listening to their inner voice and rather than shutting it down, acting on it to try to bring themselves into closer alignment with objective reality and sanity.
It's tough, and not everybody has the stones for it, which is why those who make the push deserve a ton of respect. The easy roads all lead to nutsville.
Your post was better than what I had in mind, which was going to be something like... "What? So THAT'S what the 1% are doing these days? Times are tough all over, I guess."

It has the same flavor as that "Incubator Babies" lie packaged and sold by the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador posing as a refugee before a congressional committee, and all packaged up neat and tidy by American PR firm, Hill & Knowlton.
http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/...
Go America.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
We're one feeble step removed from living in the age of punishable Thought Crimes.
In these days when grade school kids are handcuffed for "Acts of Terror", a nice ol' bit of vanilla vandalism makes for a pleasant change of pace.
The problem is... That's everybody.
People like you give me hope.
