Officials in government must get messages directly from God to tax things. It is like a command. If it exists we must tax it ! It is a serious message in disguise. It is an admission that our government can no longer afford to govern. That is just about what goes on in the average American family. Families can no longer afford to exist unless there is some cheating on the basics. Hidden income is one path. But even more than that people are doing without things that they actually need in order to survive. The weird part is there is no consideration of fixing this problem as no one seems to admit that it exists. It is an easy thing to study. Look at the debt loads of various people. often you will see shriveled up bank accounts but a loan balance that is over the fence. People tend to see death as the escape clause. After all, the dead can not be embarrassed or worried about bill collectors knocking on their coffin. In a way it resembles the global warming problem. If you really love your children and grandchildren you will be very willing to do what it takes to arrest global warming. Make note that your neighbors probably don't give a hoot about global warming as they reason that they will be dead before it gets too bad. As for the kids, give them swimming lessons.
Yes AI is taking over but the hazards are not what these fellows are pointing at. Job displacement can cause all kinds of mayhem. Further, we will be forced to adopt entirely new forms of politics and economics which will be frightening, and cause great descent. AI already saves lives as our drones involved in warfare already demonstrate. AI devices can also bring crime to a screeching halt. The disruptions will take place faster than most people think. For example traffic fines enable the existence of police forces and jails. So when a self driving vehicle commits a violation just who will be fined? Better yet there may be no traffic fines at all as computers are unusually good at obeying rules. Another item that will cause huge stress is the computer can be used as a school in a stable home in which a parent keeps the kid on his PC and makes certain he completes his school work. In less fortunate homes divorces, drug and alcohol use and other factors mean that those kids need a conventional school house. But who will fund those schools as more and more parents use the school by computer at home approach. They will not want to pay school taxes at all. Teachers are already being displaced. One teacher of eighth grade history could teach that course to every kid in America. How many new teachers will train for the job when it is obvious those jobs are already vanishing.
The pollution and expenses generated by private ownership of cars is a negative for the entire city. The better Uber and its kind do the less private cars will be needed. In addition to the benefits to the public the simple fact is that cars have been getting more and more expensive. Since housing and food are also inflated getting rid of transportation expenses will enable people to save for retirement or an emergency situation.
Attach a band aid to the exterior of the car and the identification system will fail. Any alteration in the cars appearance will drive current computers bonkers. As it stands right now the cops can read the plates of every car they pass and get a hit on which cars are stolen. But as it stands lots of car thieves are being taken away due to the current technology. It will become a much more robust system with more and more recording stations set up to catch people.
We should not block the postings of the lunatic or fringe elements as they are often right despite actions they take which are illegal. The Unibomber wrote a manifesto that pointed to the negatives of advanced societies. He did have a point despite being a madman capable of violence. We had a fellow in Florida who wrote a manifesto concerning the evil of having a baby in a world with an exploding population bomb. Nobody would listen to him and he went into a business and shot employees in his madness. But the swelling world population does need strict birth control if mankind is to survive. With these individuals the thing to do is make note of some of their better opinions and facts and look past the crazy stuff or actions that they also create. We can not simply assume that because a person is a radical and a bit insane that we should not take heed of their opinions and beliefs.
Any employee that is dumb enough to work for free would also tend to be the one that a potential employer could slaughter in a job interview. I doubt that many of the top students in computer training in universities go for intern positions. I see it as a sort of admission that the potential employee is not strong enough in their standing in college. If one can do it it is far better to have potential employers begging to hire you at top dollar. Being first in class at a major university is not easy.
OK, so I wake at 4 am due to a burglar being in my bedroom. I struggle to get my wrist watch on so that my gun will help me stay alive. NOT ! No Way ! the idea of control systems on a gun is absurd. People need to be responsible for their own actions rather than ruining the very concept of a firearm as a ready to go weapon that can be used suddenly with great effect.
Since it became news that Trump used twitter I have not gone to Twitter for any reason at all. i want to stay as remote from our filthy liar in chief as i can. i am still considering leaving the nation.
We are seeing how capitalism can become a sick disaster. Hard working people who can barely stay alive surrounded by other others who are excessively wealthy is not an acceptable situation. john McCain is a republican. That is the same party that is messing with health care. He just had a dramatic surgery followed by being informed that he will have to battle a very deadly cancer. McCain has no problems getting top quality care. Now imagine if he was a poor uninsured working guy. Even with current, typical medical care most common folk would be dead. In other words there are times when top notch medical care by the best doctors is the only hope. The problem is getting that top notch care to every single person.
In many situations the US military has no way to get individual medications to troops in the field. If a transgender person has any medical need to keep on medications they would not normally qualify. Many people are rejected from service over medical need to reliably take medications. However in Trump's case he is most likely trying to impress the most ignorant Americans by persecuting others. I am concerned that we may see violence used against republic members of the House and Senate over their behavior concerning medical care. Frankly these right wing types are trying to murer millions of Americans by denial of medical care. To expect people not to lash out is silly.
I can only assume that cables run to the bottom with massive anchors to hold the turbine in place and upright. But wave and wind storms can be powerful enough to destroy such a system in my unworthy opinion. The stresses must be well beyond imagination on such a system. I can't even understand what kind of brake can be on the blades to keep them from run away speeds during storms.
Having that transparency in the US would prevent all kinds of crimes. For example the con man who wants you to make a bad investment could not pretend to be a successful investor. And if we combine that with going to electronic money the bad guys have no way of using their money as your spending needs to be no higher than your income. You just can't make those under the table bribes any more. The truth, the light of day, preventing lies and crimes all sounds like a pretty Christian way to live to me. Those that are serious about the Jewish faith or Islam should embrace this as well. But I will bet they will not. Hypocracy is a powerful demon in itself.
I pray that this device be available to test school kids once a year or so. Being able to identify kids who will become ill in advance may well mean that we can moderate the severity of the disease at onset. A great deal of the alcoholism and drug use we deal with starts with a person who is fighting the onset of mental illness. Now if we can expand the ability of this sort of device we might save millions of lives as well as the huge money spent on mental illness every year. My belief is that the vast majority of people in prison are there due to mental health issues that they try to control with alcohol or dope. Imagine the suffering and the money that could be eliminated.
I propose a retro active tax on any company that initializes or in any degree controls a company with offshore earnings. When we repatriate that money it will be taxed again unless proof of investment in new or existing, unrelated companies is quickly made. That will put a dead end to off shoring American companies and money. See ! problem solved with no big fuss at all. The people must become aware that the power belongs to the people and not to government or corporations. Think of me as a rebel with a darned good cause.
We just went through this with missing mortgage paper work. In the case at hand the mortgage holder had zero evidence of owning the mortgage other than it was listed in their computer. In fact the mortgage may not have been owned by the claimant at all. No proof was available. But the justice system was aware that the problem was so common that the national economy could take too big a hit if outfits like Fannie Mae could not prove ownership of mortgages they claimed to own. The state courts wiggled out of the situation by denying hearing cases completely. therefore Fannie Mae owns what they claim they own. Now the question will quickly become how will banks survive if they can not collect the money they supposedly are due to collect. If all of this sounds absurd to you keep in mind one simple fact that has come to light. Some people lost their homes who never ever had a mortgage in the first place. They lost the homes by institutions making phony claims of ownership. There have even been cases of outsiders sneaking files into public records in order to cause legal hell for judges who punished them or other motives for revenge. The process for removing a false file can be long, expensive and have a dubious resolution. People deliberately take jobs in which they have access to public files such as working for a security service or cleaning service and then do their worst after hours when no one sees what goes on. Rather than using a computer it is often a matter of opening a file cabinet and inserting false documents.
Why not have these machines compile a dictionary, rules of grammar etc. for each new language they create/ Maybe it could lead to better languages for humans to learn. Simply put we need to have a thing well in hand before we study it, evaluate it, and decide if it is worthwhile or should be allowed to grow or perish. There could be a good use for new tenses such as a term for a statement that may or may not be true such that a computer could refer back to that statement from time to time and run a proof check on the status of truth in that statement. If finally a statement could be declared either true or untrue the ultimate results of a computer program could be entirely different. Imagine the complexity of a topic in which several hundred statements are found to be true or untrue and the path of the program altered each time a new judgment on a statement is made. AI can lead us into realms we can hardly dream of at this time.
When the US was created we had mad bombers, political terror nuts as well as common criminals plotting among themselves against governments, political groups or businesses. That has not changed one bit. Yet the founders had a grip on certain realities including limiting governments and police from running riot over privacy of the public. When such people acted out we hunted them down. So just how do we justify the total invasion of all communications by governments i this era?
Much of what he wants is good and maybe possible. However holding back automation is 100% wrong headed. People have been trying to hold back automation for centuries. In fact automation can lower the price of housing in a huge way. And yes, we will have social unrest and some tribulations as humans become obsolete in employment situations. However that very same automation that provides homes and miraculous health care is also the same automation that will eliminate your jobs. In the past it was the guy who shoveled dirt or coal that became jobless due to automation. now it is book keepers, accountants, lawyers and even doctors and they tend to have far more social power to resist changes. But the very reason that automation will win is the same reason the crackpot notions about hiding cures for cancer exist. We are supposed to believe that a doctor can cure a cancer when he wants to but there is so much money that he will never do it. We are asked to believe that doctor will watch his parents, his kids his wife or even his own life to end from cancer when he has that secret cure at hand at all times. and that is exactly why doctors will yield to automated medical care. It is also the reason that lawyers will support automated medical care and you can bet your last penny that insurance companies love quick, easy and inexpensive cures for any problem. In other words there are huge numbers of people hitting the go fast button on automation and they tend to be the bright and highly paid people among us. The worst thing we are against is not exactly regulation but more of allowing a permissions based society. In other words you build a home and government and others will tell you just how you can build that home. The idea of permits or permissions allows so much abuse of individuals that absolutely everything turns into a money issue with a whole bunch of people feeding off the side effects of those permissions.
The notion that businesses can handle things better than the government is propaganda. Vital services that are reliable come form government. your army, police, major hospitals, ambulance services all are governmental and all are unusually reliable. I remember the horrors of private companies running ambulance services and deaths actually occurring due to the poor ambulance services. When we had the government run our ambulance services the improvement was splendid.
All of us always support services that we do not use or rarely use. I send maybe one letter a year by snail mail. Why should I support a post office at all? The idea that first class mail supports the entire postal system is sort of warped. Sending packages already costs all of us too much money. I would hate to even know the sums that Amazon and Ebay spend on shipping. Those shipping charges are passed on to the buyers in the product costs.
I do not have the ability nor the inclination to get more advanced computer power until some breakthrough point is reached. For example Libra Office does a wonderful job. Chess on computer is so strong it can be discouraging. I have unlimited high sped net so surfing the net is not going to be better. i'm not into games so i don't need that type of gear. All in all if a PC dies on me i can get a good, used replacement under $200. so the industry needs to drop the next really big thing in front of me to cause me to buy stronger computing hardware.
The older or easier to rob you get the more likely it will occur. I have stopped a strong armed robber personally and held him for the cops. he snatched a woman's purse and tried to run for it. People on the wrong side of the law look for people that pay with cash. That does not mean that they will jump you right away. In some cases the study when you go to the bank or super market or mall and jump you on the way in, before you spend your money. They can also set you up by having a young girl come to you supposedly needing help and when it gets to the point that she can steer you to a certain location you will be robbed and maybe killed. We had a local wave of people hitting the rear of cars and then getting out of their cars acting like they want to give you information for insurance etc.. You end up without your car or wallet etc.. Plastic offers a certain degree of protection and outfits like PayPal can also save your bacon. i use auto pay from my bank account as well as auto deposit. That means I have a solid record of my transactions and only visit the bank about once a year. Not only does that lower my exposure to crime it saves stamps envelopes, the risks involved in driving to pay bills and a bunch of things rarely considered. For example if you lease a car imagine the miles you can save by paying all bills electronically and having direct deposits to your bank accounts.
I have often remarked that no nation would ever really tolerate free speech. Here we have government offering an excuse to eliminate free speech completely. Frankly there are numerous issues mixed in with this. Criminal activity is now so common that we simply can not detain, arrest or imprison more people. There are already problems concerning which laws get enforced and against whom they are enforced. if we had high quality investigation of all our people the nation would collapse due to the vast number of people who would be in the justice system. For example how many people have cheated on their income tax or made false statements to insurance companies? How about hunters or fishermen who cheat a bit on size or number of animals taken? Frankly most small businesses also commit crimes. For example even some McDonald's chain stores alter time cards to make certain no worker can get full time status. That is criminal fraud but who knows of a single case of such a store being padlocked? Arrest and prosecution has a lot to do with who you are.
Yes, population rates are a vital issue and the cause of numerous miseries. Crime is highly related to population density. Drug addiction, mental health and alcoholism also are amplified by crowding. Employment issues, traffic and just about everything else including pollution all climb when population density gets out of control. Take a look at cities suffering unusual disasters and they have something in common. They sought to expand their labor force by attracting new residents. And then some economic condition pulls the rug out from under and you end up with another Brooklyn,Bronx,Detroit, Chicago,Flint or other horror story. Growth and population density are the worst enemies we face. My generation grew up thinking that science and technology would cover the damages created by an ever more crowded world. It did not materialize. As a youth I could go anywhere at any time of day or night without fear of perverts or violence. Today we even need to watch kids playing in our lawns as there are so many violent and disturbed people around.
