  1. The Answer Man Rants on New Study Says Governments Should Ditch Reliance On Biofuels · · Score: 1

First save our farm land and make it illegal to use any land once used for farming for any other purpose. Next make it illegal to raise non food crops on farm land. Then stop all exports of any food what so ever. That way our soil will be presrved and the price of food in the US will go down. Then plant large areas with bamboo. Bamboo is super fast growing and sequesters carbon for the first five years of its life. Harvest bamboo every five years as it is useful for many products. And then, above all else, allow one child to be born to a female for life. By doing that we can shrink the population instead of reproducing until we exterminate all humanity by over population. It is so easy to implement but an ignorant public will never allow it.

  2. These days our issues are not about knowing what is going on but not having ways to deal with what is going on. I'm certain that law enforcement already could sweep up a couple of millions criminals with information easily at hand but what the heck can you hope to do with all that get arrested? And frankly I do not trust the system when it comes to defining who is or is not a threat. We already have people in prison for utterances that I would not consider a threat. One remark that sent a man to prison was "If I knew then what I know now I would have had a gun in my hand.". In other words even remarks about a situation in the past can be considered a threat in the present if a judge is paranoid and on the evil side of the coin.

Not one single leader will step up and address the real problem. The upper crust gang feels threatened that society will collapse and yet we still hear nothing about causes or solutions. The fact is simple. Almost all of our woes are due to excessive population. If we firmly address the reproduction issue we will knock down pollution, sprawl, unemployment and a host of other issues. The next item is to address greed and stop allowing greed to drive bussinesses. For example we have food that is too expensive. If the US has an expense issue with food the simple answer is to ban all export of food. The same is true of energy. We can stop paying a fortune for oil dependant products if we disallow the export of oil completely. Then we have the obvious to deal with. A large ship these days creates more pollution from burning fuel than 50,000,000 cars do in a year. Obvioulsy at the very least we need to ban the burning of the wretched types of oil burned by ships. These ships do not burn diesel oil. They burn the dregs of oil processing which is about like asphalt. In fact on a cold day you can walk on top of a vat filled with that stuff. It is that thick and nasty. Simply ban that stuff completely.

I suspect that the cops have crossed over into paranoia. I have noticed that certain types of crimes are being pretty much ignored even though complaints about those crimes are numerous. There is a saturation point at which arrests get too common and too expensive. Apparently the cops have been following millions of vehicles and compiling records and are certainly spotting quite a bit of crime. Yet we are not seeing people being swept up in large numbers. I wonder how many people who continuously commit crimes are simply being ignored as a matter of economics and also how frightened law enforcement is about it all. Perhaps we are heading for a situation like we see in Mexico or Italy with crime being almost a part of government of the masses.

The more parts or systems a car has the more likely it is to break or need expensive repairs. Parts and systems also add weight and therefore cause more fuel to be wasted. We need better, primitive cars that are designed to last decades with little maintenance or repairs. Examples could include a stainless steel floor pan which will never rust or a synthetic floor pan and firewall which can not rust. Body panels could be made by Rubbermade so that they do not dent, rust etc.. A 1000 cc engine can provide too much power these days. The best car engines may be as small as 750cc with good engineering, All brass and copper radiators would prevent premature death on many engines. Manual windows need few repairs compaired to power windows. Early VW beetles had a superior heating system that was fairly bullet proof. AC systems should usually be avoided as they add weight and complexity. Dash boards should be quick and easy to remove as should wiring harnesses. Modern brakes are lousy in that they require too freequent repairs and maintenance. If we standardize brake rotors, calipers and master cylinders we can offer super low prices on brake repairs. It may well be possible to produce better cars for 6K than cars now selling for 30K and the operational expenses could drop to near zero. One example of stupidity was getting rid of the 5 mph safety bumpers. Those bumpers saved billions in car repairs. Yet politicians got rid of safety bumpers. Those bumpers also saved a few lives.

Compare the thin walls of a plastci milk jug to metal of the same thickness and that plastic is quite strong, lite weight, and free of rust or corrosion issues. Make that same skin a bit thicker and you can't hurt it with a sledge hammer. 3D printing is my best pick for the ultimate, modern, disruptive technology. China just 3D printed a six story apartment building. Workers best be prepared for a shocking change in just about every facet of their lives. Immagine two workers completing a six story apartment building in 48 hours using 3D printing. The plumbing and wiring conduits can be printed into the walls. We might get to the point where the slab the building sits on is 3D printed and just maybe robots will man the printers so that humans have zero involvement. everyone wave by by to the construction trades.

It would have been so easy to deny Einstein admission to the US as well as Goddard and many others. Some of the programmers coming out of places like Taiwan and Hong Kong are miraculously gifted and we would be fools not to ease the path for them to come here permanently. There may be many geniuses born but very few of those geniuses are trained in skilled areas that a nation must have to prosper and those people must be treasured if we are to survive as a nation. Yet I have seen immense prejudice against foreign workers who were highly skilled. One advanced engineer that I knew was working in a labor position and a school board thought he was some sort of lite weight with degrees from Romania. His boss was shocked when i told him that the man was a certifeied engineer with the American Association of Engineers. He got a much higher paying job in another branch of government as an engineer. That leaves the merry bands of thireves who are less succesful free to keep ripping people off endlessly. And unlike other issues this one is easy to solve. Each town should advertise to get homes that voluntier to be honey pots that record each and every phone call into the home. That way they could raid every telemarketing room in the US if any laws are broken at all in the solicitation. Usually the people who actually do the calling are not aware that they are commiting major crimes. The managers and owners are the ones that need to be in prisons. They consider the state of science to represent facts which is a form of denial. It somewhat puts religion and science on equal footings. Note that considering science as a belief system is only real from a long term view. Consider what were considered facts in 1900 and how many of those facts fell apart. But humans being what they are consider Texas and what those folks can do armed with the notion that religious or pseudo religious beliefs might carry the same weight as science and you end up with lunatics who want to teach religion in science classes. And our broken system tends to give them support. Since we do not have religion classes in public schools it sort of puts pressure on the idea of shifting religion into science classes. Along with that we have a problem in that science can amplify the worst aspects of human nature. For example primitive natives may bash each other over the head at times but only modern man would drop nuclear bombs killing millions or come up with ideas like creating new, deadly, bacteria to use in war.

And the idea that we should do so much protecting against cyber bullying is a bit off as well. School years teach us many things. Not the least of which is how to deal with a bully. A kid that commits suicide over rants on the net is one heck of a defective kid. The idea that parents and techers might tell kids to buck up and deliver as good a punch as they take whether verbal or physical should be part of raising kids. I have a relative who went through school with severe medial issues. I told him to make buddies with a couple of really big kids in school and explain to them that he could not fight back and might one day need to ask for their help. They took it as a compliment and he never had anyone try to push him around in school as they knew his friends would get very involved. They probably know that but reason that there is a line in the sand that will trigger retaliation and as long as their attacks are low grade they can continue using terror tactics. That may be a very foolish belief as the US or Israel can get a bit crazy at times and any hostile actions may be received and great retaliation applied. The effect was that almost year round the kids were on their bikes and doing whatever they could to not be bored silly. Some were very dangerous while others were simply poor kids playing.
