But in our economics we now must be certain that our robot like devices work better and cheaper than China's automated equipment. Go to a machining technology fair and watch companies argue exactly that their automated factory machinery works better, cheaper, and longer than the other companies hawking their wares. Our government follows that model. Get along nicely with the US and we will give you drones that kick ass for peanuts.
We already have a substantial body of materials from the ancients which go unread or unstudied. And if the rare scholar happens to dig into that material whatever he gleans from it tends not to be communicated to others unless some real revelation is obvious in the material. Lauderdale Beach as the cruise ships exit Port Everglades. Maybe we could fuse all that plastic into a lump and create a new island off the coast of Florida. Instead of Tampa we could name it Tampon Island.

She complained that it was impossible and that under certain conditions she might be able to help two kids at the same time if they both had the same speech defects. Not only did the school board not listen they had a nasty trick up their sleeve as well. After the special needs kids failed to improve in the speech therapy arena the parents were notified that the kids had received all known benefits of speech therapy and therefore no ongoing therapy would be provided. So the transaction boiled down to a school board knowing that the therapy provided would never work and then dooming the kids under the pretense that they had received all therapy that might have aided their case.
More dramatic stories could be told but some are so warped that you would not believe it might be true.
Perhaps we could develop this tool to the point that drug addicts and alcoholics could be helped to stay sober. Also mental illnesses might be eliminated by such a device. Even criminal behavior is related to depression. But I also wonder about a tool that can make a person feel better when they are screwing up big time. Used incorrectly such a device could be a social nightmare.
When the penal system overflows and we simply can not afford to arrest one more person they might as well stop spying. At some point we will be able to discover multiple thousands of felonies ever day. I suspect we already have reached the saturation point for arresting the multitudes. We might even become so wise as to see clearly that the justice system is actually creating crime these days. Somehow locking criminals up with other criminals simply does not make them all better people.

What voters do is equate their own method of staying afloat with societies need to prosper. Fot a citizen it is true that if one earns more and spends less he will do better. But that does not work for a nation.
Under cover cops used to do things like randomly rent apartments in places they thought they could make contacts and do investigations. Back about 1967 I was more than amazed to find out that the very young looking hippie girl from next door was in fact an undercover cop. It went so far that she had moved out of her apartment and was living on the roofs of hotels on Ft. lauderdale beach in order to get on the inside with people prone to crime. All that has changed is that with the net the same tactics are easier to use. As for the cops a big part of this ios in not making arrests so that a police agent can work further and further into criminal activities. They may be on top of a criminal for several years before springing the trap and then they will have a list of charges so long the person will be buried in the prisons unless he starts working for the cops.
If the public begins to grasp just how deep a mystery the universe really is I suspect emotional discomfort may be a common reaction. It is similar to letting people know that we are hurtling through space on a rock in unkown directions towards certain doom and that not only they are irrelevant but the entire story of mankind and all traces of our existance is temporary. For end users a 5,000 symbol password is not going to happen.

Yet we have no idea of whether drinking a glass of milk causes calcium deposits in the heart in most people nor is fat intake tied to fatty accumulations in the arteries. The most northern tribes of native people have diets that are super high in fat and it does not appear to harm them.
I would think that any organism would seek a better or easier path and perhaps come back to center as no gain was found but I think the drift would be endless even if the return to center is endless. Otherwise we would have to explain the ability of an organism to simply be content and intelligent enough to stop trying to change.Other than a decision making process the only other explanation might be divine intervention.

As a teen we would sometimes lock a guy out of the car and watch him beg and break into tears as he was bitten hundreds of times in a single minute or two. The Everglades and river of grass supply skeeters into the keys when the wind is wrong and on top of that they have salt water mosquitoes that breed in the waters surrounding the keys and it turns into a nightmare situation. It is not constant but during a skeeter invasion it is over the top. We do have some Malaria along with the lesser diseases here and knocking down skeeters without poisoning or starving birds is a challenege.
