    For the sake argument let's give an example with more precise language about what he was getting at. No childish "you're stupid", "No, you're stupid."

    Cheap item:
    - costs $10K
    - a million people are willing to buy it
    - it produces 5% less pollution
    - net reduction of pollution: 1000000 * .05 = 50000

    Expensive item
    - costs $50K
    - 10000 people are willing to buy it
    - It produces 50% less pollution
    - net reduction of pollution 10000 * .5 = 5000

    If you wish to challenge his argument, challenge his assumptions or his logic.

    Those are literally synonyms for the same concept. Check a dictionary.

    C'mon, man. You need a more nuanced view. You are confusing synonyms for things that mean the same thing and dictionaries for books that give definitions of words.

    True interaction where you have to face a person as a human being instead of over a wire anonymously does promote more respect. For one, in person to person interaction, we tend to be nicer. For another, in face to face interaction conversation tends to be broader and on a human level rather than political.

    I make that I-405 commute and usually pay the fee when I am in a time crunch. It rarely saves me more than 15 minutes, but sometimes 15 minutes makes the difference between making my morning meeting and not.

    Offhand, it make sense to take a scarce resource like that and allocate it according to how valuable it is to people.

    So how would you weight each rural state's votes? I'm not quite clear. Offhand, I imagine giving even a downweighted percentage of California's and other large state's votes back to Trump might make his victory even larger. But it all depends on how you do the bias.
