If you switched to the newer APS film, the negative scanner can run through the whole row.

Here is one that does both 35mm and APS. There are also other reviews on that site of different models.

  3. Re:the way walmart is on Mandrake to Come Preloaded on Wal-Mart PCs · · Score: 5, Interesting

I've actually suggested this exact thing on the Mandrake Forum.

Mandrake could increase market share by offering other resellers a "branded" OS, while making money on the support of the machines and the O.S.

Take Mandrake 8.2 and brand it to say, WalMart.

During Boot-up, Walmart gets screen space. They get a link on the desktop to Walmart.com. And Mandrake gets 30 bucks or so to do tech support for the OS.

If the big retailers pick up on this, Linux will be poised for a several percentage point growth. Combine this with an AOL client for Linux, and this could easily propel Linux into the mainstream desktop.

To further make this evil, though it might cost you that account, have a .forward that uses this aforementioned spam-legit-list and forward all spams to them, as well as the randomly generated email addys at the spammers domain.

Besides having the really annoying "Can You Hear Me Now" commercials, this will probably end up being a bad idea.

The way these things work is that it can allow 1 phone to use up to 6 phones worth of airway resources. Now, during peak times, it's hard to get cell phones out. Now imagine that a large portion of the population is using more than one share worth of resources. I wonder how much incentive Verizon will have to increase their resources by 3-6x.

I bet this will be damn expensive for about 5-10 years, then we'll get "unlimited downloads" on weekends/nights, etc, until cellular data rates approach current voice deals..

    By. R. Jason Valentine.

Today, the world rejoiced. It's been 45 years since nuclear weaponry had reached numbers and yield to destroy all life on earth at least one time over, and we haven't done it yet. Senior level officials at Norad and the Pentagon were seen slapping each other on the back and smoking large cigars. Said one high-ranking official, "Man, I've never done my job - which basically involves blowing up the wholeworld - and I'm glad! I hear I'm even getting a bonus this year!"

Meanwhile, in Moscow, an unprecedented run on vodka was reported. One senior staff member noted, "Well, the Americans are getting hammered about not blowing up the world, so why shouldn't we?" Grumblings about no bonuses were quickly silenced, for fear of being "party-poopers".

Meanwhile, Tree-hugger doomsdayers were a bit more glum. Not only have they proven to be as reliable as Clinton's testimony, but if news of this celebration gets out, they could lose a significant portion of their funding. Some of the better amongst them have come up with a great new spin, proving that American ingenuity is still alive and well. The spin? "Doomsday nears as weapons controllers man stations with horrid hangover."

It's not as bad as you think. During my medical school training, one of the hospital sites I rotated through had, from the description in the article, the exact same robot. And it does improve floor supplies, and in turn, patient safety and satisfaction.

Most hospital floors stock the most commonly used drugs on that floor in a safebox of some sort (Pyxis, etc). These safeboxes need to be restocked regularly, and that was the role the bot I worked with did. He rolled around once or twice a day and brought the new supplies to refill the on-floor safebox. If a patient needed an urgent med not normally stocked on the floor, then someone would hand-deliver that. It seemed to work rather well. The regular supplies weren't urgently needed, so the bot could deal with crochety old disabled vets in wheelchairs slowing it down, because it was only refilling a non-urgent floor supply rather than running urgent meds.

As far as medical records, this could deliver those as well, provided you didn't need to see them stat. He's basically a rolling lock-box, so there would be a safe place to put everything. It wouldn't even phase me.
