One workaround is to do presentations on Libreoffice, and then have also portable versions (Windows and OSX) of libreoffice on your USB-stick with the prensentations.

"Being able to import it directly into gmail would be very useful."

Now you can read your Gmail, including old mails from Thunderbird And WebMail.
typing in a text box in a tab may send keypresses to a text box in another tab. It happens when I open many tabs at once; the last tab to load usually steals the focus.
Doesn't the "Load in the Background" setting help here?
If you are using Tabbrowser Extensions then go:
Tab -> Tabbrowser Extensions Preferences... -> Use Tab
and there "New Tabs" section radio button to "Load in the Background"
One very easy way to annoy IE users is to use 10 years old, standard PNG graphics... with 1% of transparency. IE users gets brown boxes. Other users barely notice that graphics are a bit transparent.
It was good strategy for them to bring it to Windows 95, because it was Last Windows what supported Gravis UltraSound (GUS) Soundcard.
It still works with Linux kernel 2.4 - I haven't tested 2.6 series yet.
Spamassassin
SpamAssassin(tm) is a mail filter to identify spam.
Using its rule base, it uses a wide range of heuristic tests on mail headers and body text to identify "spam", also known as unsolicited commercial email.
and Razor
What is Vipul's Razor?
Vipul's Razor is a distributed, collaborative, spam detection and filtering network. Through user contribution, Razor establishes a distributed and constantly updating catalogue of spam in propagation that is consulted by email clients to filter out known spam. Detection is done with statistical and randomized signatures that efficiently spot mutating spam content. User input is validated through reputation assignments based on consensus on report and revoke assertions which in turn is used for computing confidence values associated with individual signatures.
poor standardization- alpha in particular is different accross platforms and browsers (IE is the worst offender here)
Do you really mean that it's PNG's fault, that Micro$hit can't still implement the open standard what was released to public use in 1996! Maybe it's their idea of innovation. Browsers with PNG Support
Oh, then it works just as it should. I mean, if that denifition of Hacking/Hacker is the right one, because the Hacker is the The Good Guy, Computer Geek, Professional who every corporation wants to have enrolled to them, instead of competition.

I suggest to to make two categories to filter, Hacker and Cracker sites, and use those right. It means that every IT guy in there is encouraged to read Hacker sites, because it developes their skills - its like getting free studies for them. Actually if someon doesn't read those, that guy doesn't really like to keep his/her job. Of course the Cracker sites are then more in line of adult entertainment sites. (not really wanted to spent working time on there, I guess)
If Micro$oft is based it's opinions about *nix to Xenix Then I really understand why they think it's very bad.
At least that's only *nix they "offically" know.

It has Linux and Windows versions available.

I do consumer computer repairs as my work. One observation is, that powersupply lasts about 5 years - when it is in general-purpose non-gamer-box.
Most universities mirrors certain sites or just files.
So, how about suggesting that university adds certain files or sites (currently available only as torrents) to their regular mirror system.
That way university saves in bandwith, and students get the legal files. Everyone wins and nobody get sued.

Chess must be also in Restricted List, because, it is after all - a War Game, very simplified in details though, but still it is.
I hope the Feds are billing the Microsoft of their services.
And every listed filter looked to be Commercial one. At least I didn't seen Spamassasin or Razor there.
So, even Spam filter link list was just one way to make money.
