    That word doesn't mean what you think it does.

    1.) No one has declared war against the United States. The last time that happened was the Civil War.

    2.) The United States does not have a list of enemies. The last time that happened was WWII.

    Perhaps the word you're looking for is "espionage." See Snowden for reference.

    Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

    I don't disagree with your thoughtful answer.

    I used Kaspersky long ago, when Windows was routinely eaten up with malware. You remember those days of Combofix and TDSSKiller and Malwarebytes.

    I would install Kaspersky long enough to do the job, and it did it well. After the infections were removed, I did a deep uninstall using Revo Uninstaller, simply because, "Russia."

    I had no reason to suspect Kaspersky of any evil, but I did not want a Russian company in my house.

    Were I not retired from IT, I would avoid Kaspersky just as a best practice.

    Competition affords choices and perception is often guides purchase decisions.

    Yes, it was stolen-- in a collaborative effort involving, among other countries -- from, say, Austria, as is the norm for scientific endeavors.

    The Cold War was a money-loser for the people of the Soviet Union.

    The US and its allies sanctioned USSR and only the elite had wealth.

    The introduction of democracy and capitalism and aging party-liners lead to nationalistic policies by the satellite countries.

    The globe is trending toward a world war as nationalism and isolationism combine to fight capitalism.

    I did assembly on the Z80. It was a mental nightmare. I never ran across the 6502 but I do recall the religious wars back then.

    BYTE was awesome and 80 Micro.

    You know: Radio Shack (Tandy) had no idea what their computer could do.

    Same for the Apple I.

    Hobbyists from all over were schooling those companies.

    So I saw a TRS-80 at the Smithsonian museum several years ago.

    I got mine in February of 1978.

    I wrote articles for Kilobaud Microcomputing back in 1980.

    The rest of the world needs to recognize and appreciate that America is becoming a shithole country and move along without the US.

    Isolationist, nationalist, Islamophobic, anti-immigration, anti-refugee, intolerant of its own people, warmongering, and oligarchical, America's beacon has dimmed and she is doomed.

    I hope Iran, Russia, China, and the EU pick up the slack and prosper from trade deals with each other.

    America is tainted and tarnished and that's OK. It's what the American people want.

    Humans are intelligent, adaptable and mobile.

    While they can move about and change diets and stuff, appreciate that somebody has already planted a flag in the ground and those sovereign citizens aren't sharing or relinquishing resources and real estate to immigrants without a fight.
