    I would just get something like a Mr heater propane heater. Safe to run indoors, propane is easy to store.
    It's not going to be a good solution to get you through an entire winter, but should get you through minor outages, it's also way less costly and complex than some of the other ideas mentioned.
    If possible I would get a wood stove, I have one, the initial cost was pretty steep but all I need to keep it going is wood which is nice.

    Also you can take advantage of windows and the sun during the day, open the curtains let heat in, close curtains at night.

    The problem is when government takes things "seriously" it probably means more laws, more protection for them at the average persons expense.

    My work has two logins with some variation of name and birthday, this past summer I took two classes, each school had a variation of name and numbers. Between them all I was logging in at least 20 times a day. Each password ended up being slightly different. Talk about confusing.

    My first thought as well, if it actually works out that is one thing, but they are jumping the gun a little saying why can't everyone, when they have actually built it themselves.

    Yep, it happens all the time, company threatens to move out of state, states start competing to give the most tax breaks. In the large city where I live all the surrounding suburbs/ cities have agreed not to give tax breaks to businesses in each others area.

    Even if it does detect a gunshot, the police will have to find the person, get them checked for gunpowder reside, if no crime was committed is that going to be enough evidence to charge them? What if they are right handed and just use their left hand?

    but with other studies they say researchers do have much incentive to redo trials/experiments. You don't make a name for yourself by just confirming someone else's work.

    I have to disagree.

    Sure, their cheap products are exactly as you described, but their higher end products are pretty decent. My HP Envy laptop is wonderful and great value for the price.

    You get what you pay for, but generally that's true for any company, so no need to single out HP.

    I agree, I work with all the major laptop brands, there is much more of a quality range within each brand than there is between brands overall. Each brand has low end crap that is junk. Each has way overpriced expensive laptops that are going for looks over function, or have three folding out touchscreens, which all end up having so many stupid features in the lightest possible setup so they end up breaking.

    I think the agenda is that somehow because the field is mainly white men that they are somehow conspiring to oppress women and minorities in order to keep all the jobs for themselves.

    No matter what you do people are still going to troll. You can try to do everything in your power to stop it, you may be able to reduce some of it, but people will troll right up to the line you put in the sand. I don't care enough about any forum to pay for it. There are plenty of civil forums out there.

    You need to take into account the person in front of you being stupid, you are going to be at fault if you rear end someone in this situation, and be the even more stupid person.

    It's not really fixing stupid, it's keeping stupid people from hurting themselves, I just don't see the problem being the counter, the problem is people are so stupid they think the person in front of them is going to gun it through the light, they don't, and end up being rear ended.

    I don't think it's increased risk to the pedestrian it's more rear end crashes "The largest increase is in rear-end accidents and we think it's because two cars approaching a light, who both see the countdown, the guy behind, he sees the two or three seconds and thinks, oh, the guy in front of me is going to floor it too, I'll floor it and we'll both get through the intersection. Whereas the guy in front thinks, OK, I only have two or three seconds left, I'm going to slowdown. And this is exactly the type of accident that would happen in that case."
