Kind of like how slashdot wasn't renamed (or improved!) when bendover.net bought them, or VA Linux, or VA Research, or SourceForge, or Geek.Net or Dice.com, or BizX. Other than (fuck) beta, there have been no updates whatsoever since 1998.

  6. Re:We're all programming in Machine Code on Is The C Programming Language Declining In Popularity? (dice.com) · · Score: 1

It should be, but there are people who insist on talking about the "C Machine" and "undefined behavior". Unfortunately, most of them are compiler writers and ignore that your code is going to run on an actual computer with actual defined behavior. Result: the compiler goes full retard and "optimizes" away code because somewhere there might be a computer that doesn't use two's complement integers.

Typical conversation with someone that loves a dell:

I love my dell. It's fucking awesome. Of course, I had to return the first 3 they sent me because they were broken. And the wifi chip is garbage but it's a simple matter to take the laptop apart, de-solder it and solder in a new one. And sure the trackpad is awful and randomly clicks but I use a mouse. But yeah I love my dell. 10/10. Would buy and return until they sent me one that works again.
