    True. But the comparision to cell phones is unfair since that includes every cellphone from every brand and model. I wonder if there's any other individual hardware product that has sold a larger number of units. I think the PS2 has over 110 million sold, but I'm not sure if any other brand has sold as many copies.

    Not really. I've played pretty much every FPS multiplayer - Doom2, Quake, Q3, Q3, UT, UT 200x, HL, HL2 and a bunch of mods.
    Halo2 pretty much redefined the experience for me since now I could play the game slouched on my couch, 10 feet away from my big-screen tv.

    Interesting story that sounds familiar. What you're missing, however, is that to all the upper management folks, marketing etc. it's the guy who built the joystick part that actually built the product. You might have done most of the work, but he got most of the visibility.

    The VGA cable doesn't come with it afaik. but it outputs VGA at 1024x768 and 1280x1024(?)

    I just picked this book up from my local library a couple of days back and found it absolutely essential for my job as a Project/Program Manager. It covers the basics which I should arguably have known before I started this job and has tons of tips and tricks which I feel would make my day-to-day productivity higher.
    Sigh: I wish it has a chapter on how to stay away from slashdot :-)

    This is Microsoft's scrapped Hailstorm initiative all over again. Except that it's Google doing it. It's interesting to note that two of Haistorm's key architects (Mark Lucovsky & Adam Bosworth) now work at Google.
    I suppose they think the same idea would work if a different company did this.

    This is interesting, but Microsoft's Office Communicator http://www.microsoft.com/office/livecomm/communica tor/prodinfo/overview.mspx has supported connecting to MSN, Yahoo & AOL IM for a year or so now.
    • Conduct IM conversations securely with customers and partners from one client whether they use Live Communications Server or a public IM client like AOL, MSN, or Yahoo!.

    The article never stated that IPTV was a Microsoft Innovation. It just stated that Microsoft will be providing the software for Telecoms who will deploy IPTV.

    Blockbuster wouldn't want this, but NetFlix (or Blockbuster Online, for that matter) would want this. THis way, they need to pay only for mailing the DVD out to the subscriber, not for the subscriber to mail it back to them.
