    As I recall the ID number in the Intel chip was a complete bomb as far a sales went. Also didn't the Que-Cat also become a dismal failure?

    "We are in a hold right now. We've got a potential RF (radio frequency) compatibility issue with the payload, which we're working through. I anticipate we will come out of the hold in about 10 or 15 minutes and get back on track," says Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX vice president of business development.

    Weather conditions are acceptable at the launch site today, she added.

    SpaceX tells reporters that launch remains on schedule for 2300 GMT.

    This has the potential for being abused. If I as a driver developer create version 1.0.0000 and get it certified. Then it turns out it crashes alot. Whats to stop me from just releasing version 1.0.0001 without any changes to the code as soon as the error count get high enough to be notified my M$. Count starts over I don't have to do any work. Maybe over time it will be visible enough that M$ won't certify any driver I release, but since money talks...

    Timex Sinclair ZX80 with 1k of memory. Stored Basic programs on audio cassette.
    Then it was the Commodore Vic 20 with 4k... Man what a screamer.
    After that we got the C-64. Made my own joystick to play Gorf.

    Man those were the days... Now if I can only loose my virginity.

    All wars ever, everywhere, always have been and always will be, based on economics.

    Err... no. Most wars throughout the history of man have been based on religion. Economics has most always been a side issue. There were quite a few wars based on land ownership, but it still doesn't beat out religion.

    1) No object can violate conservation of angular momentum.
    2) To rotate an object one needs to give it angular velocity, hence angular momentum.
    3) To have finite angular momentum, an object needs torque applied to it (or a force applied away from the center of moment).
    4) Gravity acts on the center of moment and does not result in torque on any free falling object.
    5) Cats dropped feet up manage to land on their feet.
    6) Does this mean cats violate conservation of angular momentum; no wonder Egyptians worshiped them.


    7) Toast allways lands buttered side down.
    8) To obtain perpetual motion requires a slice of buttered toast strapped to the back of said cat.

    Actually, the Military is bound by the Geneva convention which states that we have to use full metal jacket rounds. They are designed to penetrate straight through the body leaving just a small hole. Hollow points and shrapnel rounds are illegal to use. They even make sure that the speed at which the round leaves the rifle is high enough so that the round doesn't start to tumble before a given distance. All the countries that abide by the Geneva convention follow these rules. Those countries that don't will fire anything they can get there hands on.

    Now land mines and hand grenades are a different story.

    Actually all commercial IM's are blocked by the military. The reason givin was a bandwidth thing.

    The main reason for running unsecure, is that the data pipe running to the South Pole is only open for just a few seconds at a time. You have to be able to transfer your data packet in little bitty windows of opportunity. If you have your data packaged in nice large security packets it will take forever to transfer your files, if at all. As soon as they come up with a better way to communicate with those stations I think they will be the first to secure there data.
