I did the same thing after Maverick...Apple free here now....I miss some parts of it, but on the whole very happy with the performance/capacity to dollar ratio.
"BB10 is superior to android in many forms." Your opinion, which I respect. My experience was a broken implementation of DAV extensions (bug report filed, never fixed) and a ghastly "app store" with apps that are gutted compared to their IOS and Android counterparts. I was GIVEN a Z10 and it just wasn't as useful as an iPhone or Android phone.
I've run OS X since Tigar..I got this MacBookAir around the Snow Leopard/Lion days. OS X isn't an operating system anymore...it's Apple's sales platform now...BookStore..iTunes Store...AppStore...all about selling, not about a good OS. So Linux is now on this MBA...it runs sweet, less resource intensive, and doesn't phone home to anywhere when I turn it on (capture the traffic for a Mavericks/Yosemite bootup...it's ridculous...even on a clean install with nothing else installed).
3.38% of browser market share doesn't seem like "one of the internet's most popular web browser"...
Last I checked most ransomeware doesn't have an "installer"....will just execute....so...yea....
Too bad it's mostly Netflix Originals, 99% of which I have no interest in. Still...I'd stick with Netflix before going Dish/Cable.

"Come to UCSF to get an education to get a great job that will be outsourced anyway"
And churning out different sizes of the same tech is all Apple has done in the last ten years.....sad really :(
Doesn't mean you have to connect it ;) But I agree...it's ludicrous.
I use it...since all Netflix seems to care about now is their crappy Netflix Originals (though I admit Stranger Things was pretty good).
and STILL haven't seen a good release day for PC games in 2016 for $60 titles...Dishonored 2, Batman...I'm looking at YOU.
Yep...exactly where I was a couple years ago...all Mac...but after the Mavericks crapshow, now on Android and Ubuntu...made the right choice.
I've watched 2 Netflix original content...the rest I'm totally uninterested in...bring on the good movies.
Which will impact less then 8% of the market: https://www.netmarketshare.com...
Apple hasn't appeared to innovate in years...just different sized iDevices really...at least in the mobile market.

Can't secure the current payment infrastructure....and now add an untrackable digital currency? Yeesh.....
