    it *is* a good investment, actually...

    it will add 15 years to my life, and my wife is a whole lot more frugal than myself, and, at the tender age of 27, i actually have a nice positive net worth, with some nice investments.

    but - i do agree - i've added up *everything* involved in this - including presents for us, travel, hotels, hall, yadda yadda...

    and it is going to cost sum total (for everyone, including guests) over 100,000 - which is totally insane.

    employers want degrees. a lot of times you won't even get an interview without a degree, experience be damned.

    a 4-year degree will open up doors that will remained closed to you if you dont have one.

    1) simultaneous saturation of two huge new markets (radio and automobile), and the fallout from losing all the cottage inustries that supported the rise of these industries.

    2) massive stock market speculation (stock market bubble)

    3) Bone-headed protectionist tariffs by Hoover.

    I know that you really want to blame this on FDR, but the facts just arent there. FDR inheritied n 18% unemployment rate - there was serious discussion of revolution before he got in, and yet he managed to save the Union.

    i had an MS VP tell me point blank that they "permitted" piracy because eventually that person would buy an MS product and give the company money.
