    uh... i dont understand your comparison to C... of course a C program is broken if it core dumps... an extremely small percentage of core's are caused by broken compilers... i think that i've broken a compiler a total of twice in practical use...

    meh... gta:sa is at the EOL of a platform. you expect them to stretch resources, and one of hte tradeoffs is long load time.

    however, i *love* that gta:sa has no loading whilst driving. frickin sweet.

    You are mistaken.

    Walmart makes about a 20% gross profit margin

    Grocery Stores make about 2-3% gross profit.

    the interface, and itunes software is why the ipod is so good.

    seriously, the organizational structure and the interface to the ipod is damn near perfect. extremely long battery life, and a slim case.

    the ipod haters really dont know what they're looking at.

    i've got a 20GB iPod. You're telling me that its easier (and cheaper) to but 20 1GB CF's, load crap on all of them, carry tehm around, organized, labelled, than just creating a playlist in itunes?

    msft has two products that carry the water of the entire company: windows and office.

    so, therefore - they have no recurring revenue. they need to constantly churn out "updates" to their flagships.

    they dont have a consulting rev stream to fall back on, and their hardware sales are a joke.

    we're about to see a renaissance of mid-80's style computing. all-in-one brand-name devices that dont all run the exact same thing. think c64, apple iie, whatever that crapp atari had out.1

    wow - withholding lawful payment is one of the reasos that you RUN to get a lawyer. hell, if you're compnay is even discussing the action, i think that you should have a short conversation with your family lawyer (you DO have one of those, right?) about what the proper response and documentation that you need to generate.

    oil popped is the absolute best way to go.

    buy a stir crazy and you are set for life.

    also, use good olive oil and sea salt.

    especially with graphic heavy apps like a web browser.

    we've found that heavy browser users like it on the thin client, proper, running local.

    first, i'm an engineer at one of the major thin client manufacturers, i really dont need a definition of a thin client.

    vesa is way too slow, unless the apps that you are running are specifically designed for it. Wyse did this with their 1200LE product... unix-ish thinger, with a vesa buffer on top, running an uber-hacked ica... and its still slow.

    you would really be surprised at the amount of optimizations that you can throw at a (semi) proper graphics chipset, so much that it is well worth while to take the extra cost in flash to carry the proper drivers.

    also, both the rdp and ica client do not rely solely on throwing bitblt's at the screen, but rely on caching fonts, renderring tricks, and other cacheing tricks to lower bandwidth consumption.

    blech... vesa? thats gotta be awful effing slow....

    i've found, from experience, that you can do a good job in 8mb. but 1.44 ? bleh... too many corners cut... too many shortcuts, etc...
