I've always been wary of unsourced, unreferenced anonymous bodies of work, like the bible...
My original point was that there is absolutely, positively no way to empirically "know". in order to believe one way or the other, you must make a leap of faith in place of facts. however, these people are still agnostic in essence. they "believe", but will and can never know, for sure.
not that there's anything wrong with that... i may believe that there is a higher power, but i recognize that there is no reasonable way to "prove" it... hence, in essnce, i'm just admittine the reality of the situation...
jefferson's concept of seperation of church and state is embodied in the constitution by barring the congress to make no law respecting religion or estalishments of religion.
just cause the words "seperation of church and state" arent there, doesnt mean the concept, isnt.
if they pay you to work 40 hours, then you only work 40 hours.
i work with some extremely devoted co-workers. During review time, when they brought up their constant 60+ hours per week... management said "we never asked you to do that, you did that on your own".
Just because you cant stand up to your boss, doesnt mean that the rest of us cant.
bah... the company that i'm working at has 5 engineers on a linux server with an IDE drive. if you rebuild the world, you yell "generating all packages", so everyone knows that disk IO is fubar'd for the next 10 minutes.
the funny thing is, people think that the state government doesnt have all the info it needs to verify where you worked, how long, and how much you got paid.
the interviews verify the already collected information, and flag cheats.
i'm willing to bet that the amount of "fraud" in teh UE system is less than 3%.
There are specific printers - THe canon i850 and i960 come to mind here, that print more cost-effectively than the popular sites. particularly if you're doing 81/2"x11" or A4.
even the 4x6's are cheaper using cost-club (costco, sams) canon inks and good paper.
although, i do agree with you in general, there are very few printers that make it worth while to use them.
plus, theres nothing like being abe to give your grandmother a 8-1/2x11 of their great-grandsons baptism, et.al. that was that day.
If you're printing Photo's, you want the real stuff, no question about it.
I've been happy with Canon, and found that they have some of the cheapest per photo, and best looking prints around, if you use the right printer. (i850, i960)
yup.... WalMart is a logistics company first.
They just happen to own a couple retail outlets.
you;re thinking of ghb.... wonderful, wonderful affect on the body, actually... and very few side affects when used correctly.
they sure as hell dont have a patent on netbooting, at least not a general, valid one...
you need to look at the old Canon i850... the cost per page, buying retail-genuine canon inks and paper, was less than $0.17 per 4x6.
If you buy wholesale-club materials, you can get the cost down to below $0.10 per page.
THe biggest problem is lifespan of the prints... you need to immediately put them under glass, or you will get some very icky fading.

when it comes right down to it; we're ALL agnostics.
There is no way to _know_ one way or the other, you need to take a leap of faith to either believe or not believe.
It's not from a lack of balls, its from a lack of information.
Sure, I can think that there is a god, but I sure as hell dont "know" that there is.
descartes never said "cogito ergo sum", he said "dubito ergo sum".
have you had a non-christian-biased philosophy course?
this type of behavior - hiring security firms to prevent organizing will lead to armed conflict between labor and the owners.
it has before, and i cant believe that we're back there again.

dude, in '77, i was 2. it was lincoln logs and tinker toys for me.
my grandparents had "pong", and that was a blast when i could play... especially the light-gun...
as for what was better than the 2600? any of the cabinet games...
what i wonder is, are my children (ok, child at this point) going to look at today's wiz-bang games and think they look like clunky blocks?
probably...
how could you tell the difference between the blocks ??? they kindof all just blended together...
dude, the 2600 came with "COMBAT"... which, i mean... isnt exactly "action packed"... by any stretch of the imagination...
>b) they see this staff as a "cost center" and a drain on their profits since developers usually don't directly book profits
thats because, IT staff, in the vast majority of cases, is a cost center, and not part of the core business.
so, dont be surprised that you're on the chopping block if you are in a cost center.
there a god damn federal court case that "proved" that microsoft is a monopoly.
goatse.cx not safe for work?
you're pulling my chain....
who the hell cares about some screaming fish?
you bought the distro because it supporeted RPM's??!?!?
rpm has long been relegated to the dustbin as a "package management system that truly sucks ass".

i'm sure scheifler's got better things to do, anyway :-)

Plus, their ink doesnt auto-expire.
to get console (640x480) graphics, you can use a frickin on-board vga chipset.
