    I still own my HP-48GX, though I do not use it much anymore.

    However for no reason I'd sell it. Not at all. It reminds me my days at University, fighting against engineering tests.

    The HP-48G was not "my calculator". It was my shield and armor !

    I do not understand why people underrate networking as if becoming a network admin can be done just with a " 'unlimited' budget to buy routers, switches, etc., to set up my own little test network as part of the learning process".

    Seriously. Have you asked yourself for example, who's going to do the troubleshooting? Yourself?

    Think about a network admin that asks here what computer, software and books need to buy to become a "star programmer". What would you answer?

    The culture, and the religion. They heard and saw what dictators, politicians and religious persons told them. It was a very far off from the reality and it still shows today with religion. I rather hear things from everyday people. Theres a lot of information and knowledge that would never come out of "official" channels. Or with todays technology I can travel the world myself and see those things. Yes, some people will never use that opportunity. But at least now it's possible for everyone and everyone can make their own decisions instead of some religion telling you what to do.

    Absolutely agree. And just to add to your point of view regarding religion, centuries (decades?) ago stupidity was even worse, when the mass was spoken in Latin and people did not even understood Latin!

    I'm a n900 owner too, however, even if Intel keeps meego alive, I think we would need Nokia to have a proper meego adaptation to our n900. I mean, hardware drivers, etc.

    I have higher hopes on the new community efforts (like CSSU) and also in Myriad Alien Dalvik, to run Android Apps on my n900.

    I've always thought the same.

    Those who work for an ISP know how hard is to get a very small /22, so it makes it absolutely unfair that a single company got a big fat /8.

    I do use linux (Mandriva) but I've never being able to understand the religious thing about it.

    How on planet earth someone can think that everything is fine with an OS when you got neither sound nor video?

    That is not what 'smooth' means at all. The correct thing to say is that Ubuntu just turn your computer into a useless piece of hardware, beacase you can not anything on it now.

    Oh well, not exactly nothing at all, you can play with ls, cd, top, grep, more, less, df, du, ping...ping... forget ping, I don't think your network card is yet working.

    (I am myself a linux/kde user, however, linux criticized vista for being bloated and that is exactly what distros are doing).

    I do understand perfectly, and yes, you want to kill him/her while all you can do is, look at him/her and beg God that with a correct glance he/she understand his honesty (not always needed) is killing the business.

    Summary: Linus, the creator or Linux says it is bloated. Novell, Red Hat, Ubuntu want to kill him :-)

    Both pictures are just the result of what a marketing department researched out that sells.

    The black man in the US pictures DOES NOT mean that they're not racist, not at all. I'm not saying that they are racist either. He's there because he can help to sell more.

    That's it.

    We all have seen those TV adds, that, no matter what is being sold, show a Latin, an Asian and a black child just to appear that they have evolved into a society when stupid racism times are long gone.

    Races are just resources to sell, from a marketing point of view.

    Just in case I'm Latin and yes, I took already my diazepam pill ten minutes ago.

    OpenGL, Gtk, Qt, GNOME, KDE, bla, bla, bla: FONTS.

    Put some money on developing a font system with sharp good looking fonts.

    I've been using linux for years, and I can not understand why fonts appearance have not improved.

    In every linux forum we all can see a "show your desktop" topic, and in most of them, regardless wallpapers, and color settings, fonts don't look good.

    That's it. Let's wait for those who will replay "fonts look great on my computer, I don't know why your fonts don't look good in yours".

    Excellent blog.
    I love linux, I use it, I think is a great OS for a server, nertworking, etc.

    But, even today, linux fonts sucks. I can not understand how fonts in linux still sucks, let's say, 15 years later.
