Yes you read that correct the right of the people to abolish or change a goverment that doesn't follow Our will is written into the document. A safty valve if things go horribly wrong since remember they were escaping from a tyrranical goverment and didn't want the same thing to happen here....
Virginia did the same thing to me. THe state tries to charge me for four years of back taxes for a car I sold, returned the tags, and was no londer living in Virginia or driving.
Long story short I finally got them to change it but it took a long time.
No your right it's absolutly the same in the Navy.. Like I said in another reply I don't disagree that you should be aware of your surroundings and change your habits accordingly especially when around people that don't understand the lingo.
My experience though was even if you were not a lifer or "ate up" when you were on the ship you never knew who was listening and was one. There were more then a few occasions I was repremanded for using improper language by a Capt. or Chief, and I don't mean explertitives. So you either rebel or just say fsck it and abide to the standards.
I don't call it a head now, but as I said elseware I also still do carry some Navy language to this day. Rope is wire, line is polypropylene or nylon, a ship is Navy, frate, cruise liner or oil rig. Everything else is a boat:) all referred to as female, etc.....

I know I was just poking fun. I was an older enlistee, & made a lot of freinds in the lower officer ranks since I did watches with them & all. Most officers I ran into were always understanding of just how much enlisted & especially deck dept worked.
Well I have never been on a airforce base long enough to know to be honest, but an Army grunt calls the bathroom a latrene even when not on manuvers, & yes sailers / marines call it a head even if it's on land. So what do you call it? That is what is taught in boot camp where even though you ar far away from any live exercises or ships you still need to know the proper terms, to understand what someone is saying and to be able to take direction. Somethings are the same no matter if the ship is in dry dock, in the air, or on the water.. I assume you did go to the AF summer camp, oops sorry I mean boot camp.;)
If you want to nit pick, that you should change when your on land TYHO.
At least you had a state room. Try going back to a room of 25 dirty guys and having to sleep there when at least 1 or 2 don't take regular showers.... I remember going to the flight deck to get air when the berthings got to hot or stinky.

I hate to burst your bubble but they use nautical terms because the Marines are part of The Department of the Navy. They ride Navy ships and some reside on Navy bases. Hence they are taught to use nautical terms. I don't suppose it's any stranger then saying you need to use the latrene.
Believe it or not working in strip clubs suck. Sure there is plenty of eye candy, but you wouldn't believe the BS you have to deal with. The women are catty as hell, your the minority, they hate to tip you, treat the men in the club like complete "marks" or "Johns", and yet they treat you like they you owe them something. Bouncing sucks because there is always some drunk who thinks they are tougher then you and wants to start a fight. You end up playing the same music over and over again until you are completly tired of hearing just about any music at all.
It all adds up and in the end you hate the place. Don't get me wrong I have worked in a lot hotter/colder , foundery, & other rotton jobs, but to this day I won't go to the strip clubs unless my girlfriend gets a wild hair & wants to. I have the best gf:)
Plus it was just so real. Anyone that as a kid or adult has banged their shin on something has had that same experience. Thats what made it funny to me.

Rename rm and set up an alias that will respond with the dir name and prompt before passing the command over to rm for the file to be removed.
