Yeah, I work at a dedicated server hosting company called Rackspace.com (shameless plug), and we have a whole frieking wall of Cobalt Raq's (1's,2's and 3's). My advice is that you get a Raq if you want to resell web space. If not, a dedicated Linux or FreeBSD box would be better. Especially if you want to customize your system. Cobalt voids warranties if you even recompile the kernel... and you can't upgrade the CPU's on them. With a Linux box, you can go to SMP and get a RAID-5 w/ a GB of RAM if you want.
There's also this one town where, if you shoot the sherrif's deputy Kenny, some dude goes "Oh my God! You killed Kenny! You bastard!". I haven't played it in a while, but it's a town with a lot of police in it near the north end...
OpenBSD does it the correct way and requires a user to be in the group "wheel" in order to su to root. It's Linux that is backwards on this, and I personnaly think it's a much more secure model than the Linux way. It may not seem to it like most, but Linux is actually the oddball when it comes to a lot of things, like IP Masquerading, the rest of the world calls it IP NAT (Network Address Translation). There's quite a few examples like this that kind of make me not appreciate Linux as much, since it doesn't educate people correctly on the 'Unix way' of doing things.
Don't get me wrong though, I almost exclusively run Linux myself.
It's sad to say, but OpenBSD just didn't work for me. It's an awesome OS, and I wish I had a reason to use it, but when I set it up as a Firewall/NAT box, the ftp proxy simply didn't work. Not only does the ftp proxy not work for me, but appearently it doesn't work for a lot of people, no one knows why either, it just arbitrarily decides if it wants to work on your system or not. Not only that, but I installed Webmin, a sweetass web based administration tool onto my OpenBSD box just to see what it was like on OpenBSD, and you wanna know what it's like? Two words: KERNEL PANIC. Webmin (v.77) actually kernel panicked my OpenBSD box. I was able to reproduce it over and over.
Needless to say, I installed RedHat on it and havn't had a problem since, FTP proxy and all that good shit works fine, and no kernel panics. It's a shame though, OpenBSD seems like a much better designed OS, and it's easy as shit to use and learn....
I read an article about the Lego Myth mod in last months issue of Computer Games Magazine. I could swear I remember reading that it was discontinued due to a 'cease and desist' order from Lego.
BTW, these troll posts are getting more hillarious by the day:)
Assuming you've used Win98, you should know what it's like when your box crashes while playing Quake:) You hear the sound sorta do a record skip thing. Imagine what this unit would do when the game crashes... Instant vomitorium.
Unfortunately, the morphing is all done in software....
The article never says RedHat is in last place...

Actually, in performance it blew away Win2K and SCO. My only gripe is that they used LinuxConf to compare admin tools. In my opinion, LinuxConf is pretty crappy. I work for a dedicated server hosting company (that happens to advertise on Slashdot), and we default install Webmin on all the linux boxes for remote administration. Anyone else here ever use Webmin? It is a sweet-ass sweet program....
Well, I dunno, Bruce Campbell just isn't the kind of actor to have in a big hollywood blockbuster release. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan, but it seems like he fits so perfectly in the "B" Movie arena. As well as the Hercules and Xena shows, I mean, they're so bad, they're perfect for him. Not having Bruce in them would be downright insane. I especially agree with the other poster who said his perfect role would be as "The Tick".
Q: IS IT TRUE YOU'RE CAST AS THE LEAD IN THE "DOOM" AND "SPIDERMAN" AND "QUAKE" AND "SUPERMAN" AND "BATMAN" MOVIES?
A: NO, BY GOLLY, I AM NOT "CAST AS THE LEAD" OR INVOLVED WITH EITHER THE "DOOM" OR "SPIDERMAN" OR "QUAKE" OR "SUPERMAN" OR "BATMAN" FLICKS. APPARENTLY, THE PRODUCERS CALLED ME, BUT I DIDN'T HAVE CALL WAITING...
Hope this clears things up a bit.... Bruce Campbell rules.
I had the same problem playing quake2 with my intellimouse. The file you need to edit is/etc/vga/libvga.config, uncomment the correct mouse on comment the one you're on. You might also have to play with the mouse acceleration settings. Hope this helps bro.
Although he did come up with some great findings, and I do respect the man, I'm sure even a severely retarded lemur could have came up with the same findings. It's not as if it would be tough one to figure out. He just happened to be the one appointed the task. I don't think happening to be the one given the gavel qualifies him as someone worthy of the award. It should be given to someone who did years of work to advance the cause, not just someone in the right place at the right time.
Dumb electricity grid transforms YOU!
Damn brother, I just chowned your ass!
Kernel configures you!
Network lays you down!
Swallow measures your airspeed!
Desk sits at you!

I heard VC (Virtual Channel) RAM is supposed to be the shit. My Asus K7V takes it, but you can't find it anywhere...

Are there any changes in the Win2000 SMB protocol that breaks the current Samba implementation? If so, do you think they were deliberate?

There's an engineers briefing going on now (including Linus), we should get some more meat and potatos out of this...
