    Users: "Well, you said it was the fastest and most secure operating system ever. Besides Windows 10 doesn't really offer any new functionality and I don't really like the UI."

    Microsoft: "No no that was old Microsoft. He was a dick. You need to scrap that gnarled bag of bolts and install Windows 10. Its the fastest and most secure operating system ever!"

    Granted it is better than Windows 8. But I don't want a tablet OS for my Workstation.

    I don't want a tablet OS on my tablet.

    Microsoft should trying to bring the usability of the desktop experience to the tablet instead of the other way around.

    Windows 8/10 is the worst of both worlds.

    Yea I'm not sure what this article is talking about. Samsung has supported HDMI out over the OTG cable since all the way back to the S3.
    The only draw back is you couldn't use the HDMI and the USB host at the same time but you could always hook a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to it.
    There are no details in the article that specify weather they're talking about over coming the OTG obstacle or what.
    The OP reads more like there's some kind of slick software interface that make the experience more like your current desktop computer.
    Of course stock Android already has a desktop mode so this looks mostly like marketing wank.

  7. Renewable energy is a buzzword from the 90's
    Modern fossil fuel harvest methods mean that there is no real shortage and we will have fossil fuels to burn indefinitely.
    Ethanol and bio-diesel renewable even though there less carbon effecent than fossil fuels.
    If Google ran there data centers on burning baby kittens, that would be renewable.

    The new hotness is carbon neutral and I guarantee that Google's data centers are not.

    If I don't have the character set installed that the page is written in, then its probably because I can't read that language any way.
    And I damn sure don't want to load every character set that exists on the web into my browser. It would run like balls.
    If you go to a page that has characters that your browser doesn't understand and you need to get to the information, use Google translate.

    I have seen some abuse of this. like designers trying to sue people for taking pictures of landmarks. That kind of thing.
    I'm not an expert in British law but I would hope the courts would see most of this as fair use.
    If you don't have the design files what's the big deal.
    I don't think this is exactly an attack on 3d printing but trying to make it into a viable business.

    Don't get me wrong its totally still bullshit its just not any more bullshit that all other types of copy right law.
