The canadian charter only applies to dealings between people and government. For dealings with businesses, you need to look at the provincal human rights codes.
I shook Paul Martin's (Prime Minster of Canada) hand outside the RIM headquaters in Waterloo this past summer during the election. I wonder how close of a relationship Mr. Martin has with RIM and how this played into the Canadian government's decision to get involved.
...of the current government in China. It'll one day, not to long from now, end with political protest, but the government will be virtually dead by then due to the internet.
I like winamp since it doesn't suck up many more processor cycles or bytes of memory than necessary to play MP3s, at least relative to the other bloatware out there. It also doesn't have a million features I don't need, just a few that I never use. RIP
True, since I wasn't born in the US. Nonetheless, I'm guessing most American presidents have made typos at some point (or made handwritting mistakes, whatever one would call those).
Maybe soon someone will see that this whole security thing is a farce. Saying it has prevented terrorist attacks is like Bush holding up a stick and declaring the stick repels Gorillas. -- Well you don't see any gorillas do you?? It's a farce and it's freaky that you're all falling for it!
Stop being lemmings. Question your leaders. Listen to Jon Stewart!
You put men on the moon; there has to be some smart people in the country...get them out of the closet...and make one of the president. PLEASE!
I said it would continue and that particular argument is not valid. I didn't say it was ok. Are you unable to make the distinction? You've set up quite the straw man.
Music has exists about as long as humanity...it doesn't rely on the current model of sales and profit, and music will continue to exists if the commerical system surronding it colapses. So, any arguments about safegaurding the future of music are fatally flawed.
....I believe they have a right to speak. I believe that we should listen to everyone's ideas. I believe blocking them will only serve to infuriate people which will only help them in November.
The poster's lack of attention to detail has turned the articles 10 to 15 percent reduction (a relative value) into a 10 to 15 percent strength (an absolute value).
While this comment is in essence correct, both values are relative to the original strength. An absolute value would be to say the fields has lost 1 telsa not a certain percentage.
But the author is still correct, the slashdot summary is very misleading. A 10-15 percent loss in strength and my compass still works. At 10-15 percent of it's strength my compas would probably be useless.
One day they'll figure out that computers have made the marginal revenue for producing a song ~= $0. The whole music industry needs to undergo a revolution to stay profitable and I don't think anyone has figured out what that revolution needs to be.
While the ACLU does not support the constitutional protection of individual gun ownership (incidentally nor do I), I would be shocked if they wouldn't support the gun lobby's right to saw what the want and not to be censored.

You might want to read the charter, particularly section 32. The CHARTER only applies to governments. Provincial Bills of Right apply elsewhere.

And who decided what "peaceful" is?
I'm gonna guess a lot of people surfing the web don't know what a cache is nevermind how to clear it.
I only questioned it. It's foolish to question the government? I think I know who the fool is.
Why is it called an Apple...It's not apple, nor can I eat it, without serious bodily damage at least.

800000 don't die in genocides every year and the world ignored the one in rwanda until too late.
An American life is worth more that Sri Lankian life or any other life in the eyes of the US Government and Media.
Yes, cause students should spend every second on serious study. That's the way to stay sane.

Wow. At the risk of being called a troll, that's probably the dumbest thing I've read all week.

Waterloo introduces Scheme in Second year (about 1/4 of a course, though that may have changed since I took the course).
It will still take energy to do this, and will create air polution when you burn it. At least you cut out the latter with H.
Ok, that looked fine in preview. Grrrr.
Helios held the record for highest prop propelled plane altitude at 96,863 (set 2 years ago) and was making preparations
I 96,863 what's????? I hope NASA knew what was feet, metres, etc. They seem to have a problem with that.
