Unfortunately the people who might see such an advertisement are unlikely to be in need of our product (high risk heavy equipment loans for people with bad credit). Putting our name on a NASCAR driver, well now that will generate a lot of interest from our target audience.
I don't have the numbers on a NASCAR team annual budget, but I can tell you the price that was quoted to my employer to be primary sponsor for two races: $600,000. Of course this doesn't factor in all the other partial sponsorships for various other sections of the car which are less visible.
I don't know how this number compares to the elite cars (Jr, Gordon, etc.), but the driver is a well known name with a solid career, who just happens to be shopping for a sponsor.
No, they didn't. The USMC does not have any medical units. They bring in Navy people who get attached for full tours. Field Medics are Navy Hospital Corpsmen. Field hospitals are almost exclusively Navy staff.
Or buy an x2vga convertor. I got one last week and run it to my 21" Sony monitor. Its very nice, a very inexpensive way of getting HD quality without coming up with the big dollars and getting a real HDTV.
I don't work for the company or have any association with them. I just bought the product, and I love it. www.x2vga.com
I've bought a couple laptops from dell this way, the only problem I've had is the Express Service Code for one of them seems to be assigned to the healthcare business support group, and I have to play phone tag for 30 minutes to talk to someone in the small business support group.
FYI you're probably costing your friends more money by having them call an intra-state call, rates for that are generally higher than inter-state calls on most POTS service plans.
My Christmas bonus was $400, with a letter including SASE, from the owner of the company, suggesting I donate heavily to the charity of his choice. The donation form even had his name nicely typed in.
You could also try getting small businesses to donate old hardware. This is less effective if you are not a non-profit (so they can't get a tax deduction). Since you're asking for freebies, take whatever you can get.
I'm replacing 2 or 3 pc's a month at a small business (35 employees), and having a hard time finding anyone who wants 200mhz to 500mhz machines! It probably doesn't help me find a home for them when the charities find out they are e-machines........
In addition to a monetary bonus, my team of 5 people got dinner at Morton's steak house. Tons of food and drinks. I'm going to guess the bill was over $500. The salary is below average, but they sure know how to say thank you when we complete a big project!
I totally disagree. Hank's hamming it up, he IS being the cheesy host. And he's laughing about it throughout the show. It's a great deal for him, a little more exposure, more interesting things for him to see and learn, and some more money to put back into 2.13.61 Nothing but respect for him!
same system for me, I agree that these batteries work great. Range is decent (base station on the ground floor covers upstairs, basement, and about 30 feet outside the house). I had to get used to the quality, sounds like there's just a little extra background noise when you're listening. Belt clips and headset jacks are standard, another cool feature. Speakerphone feature standard on all phones, and that works quite well. Worst thing: I'd like the option of each handset maintaining its own individual memory list (that's the way it is now) OR the base station maintaining the list. Programming 20 numbers into 3 phones sucks (at least you only have to do it...uhm, three or four times). Intercom feature works well, but I'd like the handsets to be able to automaticly go off hook, like the base station does.
As noted in other comments - read the real facts behind the McDonalds coffee case - there was a reason such a high award was made - punishment for someone being injured after that store had been warned repeatedly that the coffee was far too hot. Certainly people in America file frivolous lawsuits, but find a better example.
The law in WVa is probably for the Green Bank Radio Telescope installation (I believe there are/were other government radio facilities in the WV/VA border area as well). We've gotten accustomed to protecting our pork projects, thanks to Senator Byrd.
US Postal Service
on
Accurate OCR?

Perhaps some research into the US Postal Service OCR developers would be useful. Their systems are obviously huge, well funded, and exceptionally accurate considering the volume of mail. I don't know how they maintain it, if its an internal group, or a contract with external developers, but whoever has it, has got a good thing.
Heck, I think I have one of these sitting in my father's personal effects. I remember the calculator, because I hated trying to use it for my school work when I was a kid. He passed away a year ago, and was a programmer for 30 years. I'll look around over the weekend and get back to you with an email.
Doesn't happen on my wife's machine. Typing google only, comes back with "cannot find server" Typing www.google.com sends me to google. Sounds like something other than WinXP causing the problem to me.

In 1931 Rolex introduced the "self winding" action powered by the movement of the wearer, known as the "Perpetual".

Computer Stew had some darn good moments.

In my area (Delaware) Comcast does not have NASA TV available. I know it is available on the various satellite services.

Anguish rules :P
I got zapped working on a 66 block last month. Stings and tinglews, but I'm not dead....yet....

Hey, just make it a touch screen, but make sure you require the use of certified cleaning material. You think printer companies make a ton on ink....
