    What if the money doesn't exist anymore? ie: Enron, the recent NAB fiasco, etc.

    What does putting this guy in jail get anyone?

    It's generally accepted that jail time is meant to be a deterrant. I know it stops me committing all kinds of crimes.

    If that is true, then why are the police not required to observe speed limits when not in pursuit?

    Because the risk of letting a convicted criminal get away is more than the risk of a cop wiping out an SUV full of kids and puppies.

    Change it so that they have the option of disabling it if they want to, and see how many opt out. (Be sure to provide a clear link to the disable system, when you announce it). I think you'll find that most people just don't care. I get the feeling google ads are filtered out by my eyes now, because they just don't register on my brain anymore.

    That's fair enough, I guess. I downloaded it because it won't be out in Australia until next week. The difference is, when it does come out, I'm still going to go and buy it. The CD will stay in the box, because I already have a functional copy installed, but it will be bought.

    Why buy it? Ethics my friend. Something that you'll hopefully pick up as you drift out into the real world.

    You're looking at things from the wrong angle. Mandatory voting would have seen him hit the road too. There are too many people who DO understand the implications of certain government decisions who just don't care or don't think their vote will make a difference.

    Second, the point of Netflix isn't speed, it's convenience.

    And with this system, they can sell DVD's in vending machines. I will definately pick up a few DVD's while waiting to catch the train home if this is widely available. The only mistake they could really make is charging too much for it.

    Price fixing is illegal, and I find it hard to believe that is not what is happening with petrol prices.

    The alternative is a government that is age-agnostic with regard to regulating the media.

    Multimedia can be just as dangerous as guns, drugs or alcohol though. You'll realise this when your favourite religious extremist is down your local primary school handing out 'god hates fags' literature.

    So, what's the alternative? Have a bureau of maturity that ranks everyone every few weeks? The funniest thing I noticed as I left high school was the fact that the 'most mature' were only ever a few seconds away from snapping for a wide variety of reasons.

    What kind of hardware are you running that is so unstable? The only drivers I update are my video drivers, and only when I hear through the grapevine that I can get a speed boost by installing them.

    My PC doesn't use 'Joe's discount hardware', and is rock solid as a result.

    The most recent games which really pushed an upgrade cycle for a lot of people were Doom 3 and HL2. I'd suggest that neither of those were 'inefficient'. Instead they were designed to push the technology envelope (and make fat sacks of cash for ATI and NVidia at the same time)
