Carville always made him his bitch. Someone like Ann Coulter would have made a better commentator. I'm shedding no tears for the milqetoast clown.
As for CNN canceling crossfire, so what? It was innovative in its day, but its day is over. It had gotten boring. No one ever debated anymore, just slung their party-line slogans around. Jon Stewart's appearance was just an excuse (and a lousy excuse, at that. What a self-rightous diatribe THAT was).
...but yeah, the Soviet Union WAS really practicing "real communism". Just like every other communist country is a dictatorship. That's the only way communism can be enforced. And I don't know about you, but my copy of the communist manifesto doesn't say much giving people a choice; it just makes an assumption that communism is a historical inevitability, and that you'd better learn to live with it.
The communism you're thinking of is a Utopian concept that can never exist when people have freedom and choice.
"Apple, in the complaint filed on Tuesday, sued Web site Think Secret and other unnamed individuals, claiming that Think Secret had induced these individuals to breach confidentiality agreements that they had signed with Apple."
Ummm, so what? We're not dealing with government secrets, only private enterprise. The press "induces" people to spill secrets all the time. And thinksecret is the press here. If Apple has the right to sue anyone, it's the people who broke their confidentiality agreements. Not the press. I hope ThinkSecret gets a good legal team and shoves this right up Apple's ass. One wonders if free speech organizations will get involved with this, such as the ACLU (or do they only deal with the goverment? I don't know...). What we have here is a corporation trying to intimidate a news outlet. Pure and simple. Of course, Apple can do no wrong...
All of the red and black shapes on Maul were indeed tattoos, but the horns are natural to his race. You can see one of his people in this add for the new game from lucas arts. It's also illustrative of the effect that the dark side of the force has on the physical body. As you can see from the artwork, choose the dark side, and your body changes, making you grayish-wrinkly ugly.
To make matters worse, they're intentionally working to keep ballots from servicemen and women on active duty from being counted. And it seems there's more than the 129 vote margin out there being surpressed. This Marine in particular is pissed about his vote not being counted.
Democrats scream their mantra of "count every vote"...until it looks like it will cost them an election.
The 70's were the great dawning of Japanese pop culture in the US. We grew up watching Speed Racer and Ultraman on TV in the early 70's, so when the toys started arriving, wow. Anyone remember the first Shogun Warriors toys? The big ones, not those little 4 inch figures from the 80's...man, how I wanted those. Especially Raydeen and Great Mazinga. They were two-freakin' feet tall! Maybe that's why I hated 80's toys so much...all the action figures were small. I never forgave 'em for replacing the real, hairy, foot tall GI Joes with those little plastic figures.
There's a great page on the Shogun Warriors toys here.
If you're going to refer to Derb as a "Propogandist", then please have the courtesy to apply the same standards to liberal and leftist writers. If you reference Michael Kinsley or Noam Chomsky, please refer to them as propogandists as well.
Derb writes for National Review. It's a conservative opinion magazine. Does that make it propoganda? Then, is The New Republic or Slate propoganda as well?
So, is all political opinion propoganda then? Or just right-wing political opinion?

I don't particularly care. He's still deserving of scorn. And as long as we're in preschool name calling mode here, fuck you too, you cock-gobbling manbitch. (Ha! I made a funny!)
"His editorials throw out nasty insults at the Democratic party with no logical bases and baseless arguments against gay marriage."
Oh, horseshit. All politics is opinion, and Derb's opinions have a more reasoned basis than most. You just don't like his opinions.
"Pretty annoying, if actually KNOW a gay person, which most conservatives probably don't (I know you'll probably claim to have met one once, I'm sure)."
My God, you can't really be this ignorant, can you Mr. Coward? Everyone knows gay men and women, closeted and uncloseted. And here's a 'Revelation' for you, Mr. Coward (It's a Biblical reference! Just to piss you off! Ha!); gays aren't the single-minded, march in lockstep lemmings you seem to think they are. So stop being so fucking offended.
Andrew Sullivan is a great writer, but face it, he's a whiny bitch. He's tolerant of all forms of opinion except those that oppose homosexuality, even if they just go beyond a visceral dislike of gay sex.
Besides, if you pick and choose your books/art/music based on a bizarre litmus test (with every subject having to meet every thing on your checklist), pretty soon, you're going to be awfully bored and empty.
That's the worst fucking troll I've seen in weeks. Come on, can't you do something original? As a proud right wing nutjob, I'm bored. I haven't seen a really GOOD leftist troll in a long time. You, you're just.....weak.
Nice to see you ripping him from behind a AC post. Derb's one of the more entertaining writers around these days, and it's refreshing to find someone with multiple interests in such divergent fields.
But of course, he's on the other side of the political spectrum from you, Mr. Coward, so none of that matters. Tell me, what makes him a "creepy bigot", Mr. Coward? Is it that he opposes gay marriage? So do I, comrade. Better pencil me in for the next re-education camp. Or maybe it's his belief that perhaps we should be focusing more on Arabic and Muslim suspects at airports than old ladies? Well, count me in on this one too. God, I'm so insensitive. Maybe you're referring to his criticism of the left for their undying support of terrorists like Yassar Arafat while considering Israel the focus of evil in the Middle East? Once again, I'm with the creepy right-wingers on this one. See, I agree that these people are old fashioned Jew-Haters, wrapped in a respectable leftist cloak of political correctness. Anti-Semitism is so passe anyway, eh?
Slashdot NEEDS a little more balance in its political coverage.
"Don't you mean a military funded system that we CITIZENS have been given access to because we paid for it? "
Yeah, and by your analogy, because we paid for those F-15s, we should be able to take them out for a spin occasionaly?
GPS is, first and foremost, a MILITARY navigation system. We ARE lucky that the government had enough foresight to let the rest of us use it, just as they did the Internet. They understand the benefits of doing so. But in certain cases of danger to national security, they have the right (and indeed, the duty) to prevent the GPS system from being used by those that would attack us.
That said, I'm standing by for the inevitable flood of posts about Bush's fascist policies taking away our rights.
Go one way or the other. Either get us a proprietary driver that works RIGHT AWAY (as the article said, the Centrino chipset has been around for two years already. Microsoft wouldn't have stood for this kind of stonewalling), or make the drivers REALLY open source, firmware too. Intel has dicked us around for two years, and we're supposed to be grateful now? This is why I won't buy a Centrino book.
...because he's one of their guys. And is there any real doubt that Hillary isn't the Democratic frontrunner for 2008 now? The joke in Iowa is that she was seen condo-shopping in the state.
I think he's a disaster for the Dems, so as a Republican, I obviously want him to stay. But the REAL verdict on McAullife comes in 2008. If Hillary wins, he stays a party power broker. If Hillary loses, THEN you'll see a massive shakeup in the Democratic Party. That year will be the moment of truth; who should control the Democratic agenda? The Clinton gang, or the newly emergent Howard Dean-style hardliners that inhabit the likes of Democratic Underground? That election will tell the tale.
As the evening goes on, this race is tightening to a virtual tie nationwide. Kerry's people aren't talking much, but National Review says they're talking to people in Washington that says Ohio and Florida should trend back to Bush by the end of the evening. Kerry's own people are worried about Oregon now, a state that wasn't supposed to be in play. This is going to be razor close until late tonight.
Ummm...nobody's going to shoot an Israeli for trying to LEAVE a Kibbutz. Look up that "Berlin Wall" thingy, eh?

No, you don't. Just because you hang out with witless adults is no excuse to subject kids to porn.
