In TPM and ATC the jedi fight like samuri. Back with the original trilogy the jedi seemed to me to fight like duelers (mukateers or something), and even then their movements were slower, as if each jedi put a lot of thought into each single move. Watch the new ones, it's a bunch of flashing light and people jumping up and down. The Yoda thing is just the epitome of that. I saw ATM via a download, so maybe someone could clear this up. Did Yoda give Dookie that "bring it on" hand gesture that Neo did in the Matrix? Looked like it to me. It was sad.
There was some bug where my back button would completely stop working after I had used RC2 for a few days. Only way to get it working again was to delete my profile. A browser without a back button is pretty large bug I think.
I have a p200 with win2k, but god damn is the XUL UI unresponsive and slow. Hopefully, KMeleon will come out ok and I can switch to that.
As a closing note, I don't like abortion either. And I also don't like capital punsihment. But we should not let passion excuse us from the political process.
The problem is that abortion has been taken outside the realm of the political process and capital punishment has not. People can vote on whether or not they want their state executing criminals. But people cannot vote on whether or not they want abortion to be legal in their state.
I want to be the one to choose what my kids can and cannot play.
And what is preventing you from doing that? You'll just have to buy the violent game that you want your kid to play rather than sending junior off to the store with $50.
That one is a little different than the 1948 Geneva version I have seen.
I solemnly pledge myself to consecrate my life to the service of humanity; I will give to my teachers the respect and gratitude which is their due; I will practice my profession with conscience and dignity; the health of my patient will be my first consideration; I will maintain by all the means in my power, the honor and the noble traditions of the medical profession; my colleagues will be my brothers; I will not permit considerations of religion, nationality, race, party politics or social standing to intervene between my duty and my patient; I will maintain the utmost respect for human life from the time of conception, even under threat, I will not use my medical knowledge contrary to the laws of humanity; I make these promises solemnly, freely and upon my honor.
It seems to me that a state would be fully ok in banning abortion of a fetus in an artificial womb since the privacy issue doesn't come into play with the fetus being completely outside of the the woman's body. There goes the "my body, my choice" argument.
Using radio to actually broadcast something intelligible? Are you insane? Without every station pumping out mind numbingly bad music every second of every day the world would descend into chaos. I wouldn't want that on my conscience, would you?
Another reason to view it as a progressive stance is because, at least in the USA, the whole reason abortion was banned had nothing to do with religion at all. It was banned based on the efforts of the American Medical Association in the 19th century predicated by the new science of embryology, which showed more or less that human life began at conception. This was in contrast to the religious view that the human being did not become alive until quickening, when the fetus moved in the womb.
The show did not go downhill after Mulder left. The show went downhill after Cancer Man left. He was the face of the conspiracy. He was the glue to it all. Without him the show has languished and there appears to be no overarching purpose anymore.
I suppose it is relevent from the point of "What aren't they telling us about GM foods?"
They knew about PCBs since '37 it seems. Just 40 years from now what will we find out they hid about GM foods? Maybe its best to avoid them for that reason. I've supported GM foods. I think that a lot of the mentioned benefits are real. But this makes me see things a little differently.
The free market line is that corporations won't deliberately hurt their consumers because that's how they make their money. This needs rethinking. Maybe it works out economically in some weird way for corporations. The effects are too distant, and so long as no one finds out for 40 years or so the exceptional profits over that time outway any possible criminal charges.
There is also the failure of the EPA to consider in this whole situation. The EPA isn't the oldest institution around, remember it was Nixon who signed off on it. Wouldn't a survey of all water ways have been on the agenda of an organization that is supposed to protect the environment? Why are they just figuring out the PCB levels in this town now?
There are two things to learn from this whole debacle:
Corporations are not nice people.
Government institutions designed to protect us have failed.
I heard some other posters mention a corporate death penalty. Sounds good to me. But just a quick web search didn't turn up much actual investigation into the subject other than people saying "Sounds good to me." Anyone reading this who knows of actual legislation that has been proposed would do well to paste a link.
The media aren't very friendly to the Bush administration. It is laughable to think that he should hand them a news story. Our withdrawing from the ABM treaty wasn't much of a secret, we've said we'd do it for quite a while, it was only a question of when we would do so formally.
Isn't she the highest ranking Navy gal ever? Oh and something about inventing COBOL.
I can beat that. My old p200 runs win2k fine. Only 64M of ram too!
In other parts of the country we have a term for the time when the ice melts and everything thaws: spring. It sucks, really it does.
Because I saw the last movie in all its wonder.

Pssst. And Jar Jar was his mom.

You mean more than.
FOX sucks. They canceled The Lone Gunmen. They cancelled Space: Above and Beyond. They also canceled Brimstone.

Someone correct me if I'm way off, but didn't It Came From the Desert (1990?) have some RTS elements to it? Been a long time since I've played it ...

Not never, but not nearly as high as today. Check these two charts from PBS:

How does the DOJ pressure a judge?
Are you kidding? Apple has a monopoly on schools. Hell, it's practically the only thing saving them.
The people vote. Your problem is with them.
