Yeah, I agree there about the DK's I kinda thought there should be at least a couple of additional quests to do for the King before being granted Friendly/Honored status.
If the program kept track of sections people were skipping the game designers could then take another look at them and possibly tweak them to make them more enjoyable/playable, etc.
And a really stupid fuel efficiency expert at that, since by your example you'd have distance traveled / fuel consumed = N / 0 = undefined; not infinite.

Sounds like your experience is not unlike mine in working on SAP installations. Businesses need to change long running business processes to model the software's processes/templates. There's often a lot of resistance to changing these processes; usually for no reason other than institutional inertia. If you don't have buy-in from the top for the need to make these changes then the implementation is almost doomed to failure.
I wonder if he might have it backwards. Perhaps the ocean currents are influenced by the earths magnetic field, not so much the other way around. So one would have correlation, just not in the way posited here.
Without reading the article it almost sounds like the 'ol insurance company trying to play this off as an act of GOD. Much less liability if it was hit by a meteor than if it was a malfunction, poor maintenance, pilot error, any human caused reason.
Capecitbine after a few passes through the liver becomes 5-Fluorouracil or 5-FU, which is the drug she took. It played hell on her hands & feet and for several years she had no prints on her hands or feet. It really sucks your hands & feet are very raw/chapped all the time, just moving them could cause bleeding cracks to form; its just miserable.
Client Server/Cloud architectures. Remote/shared computing is great for some things, but not others, the load per user is just too high. Modern FPS & MMORPG gaming, video, audio processing, are examples that would be "challenging" to move into the cloud. I suppose you could download plugin's & applets etc, but the data sets for some things just seem to require local processing & storage.
He's drank his own urine after storing it in a snake skin for a few hours in the desert. One of the most horrifying moments I've seen on television really. If he can do that, the I suspect that drinking highly filtered urine, is just fine. I suppose though if you were drinking it on a daily basis then one might want to have it slightly more purified than what Bear drank.
Be careful about this plan if you really want the degree. This was my idea and its amazing how real life will keep you from going back for a long time. Especially if you get married & have a kid, all of a sudden the good pay check you're earning now will be much more important that the possibly better paycheck you'll earn tomorrow. Even finding the time/money to do an online masters later on may be rather tough while taking care of your other responsibilities
pollution equal to 50 million cars annually. Just 15 of these ships = the entire worlds auto output (SO2/SoX) There are 19,000 ocean going cargo ships, granted of various sizes.
Hum, $10M in small unmarked bills. Lets assume you mean 20's, the largest bill most people carry around. $10M is 500,000 bills. Now its about 454 bills per lbs so we're looking at 1101.32lbs of money. Can't just grab a suit case and run off with it can you? For comparison then for 50's you need 200,000 or 440.5lbs & 100's 100,000 of them for 220.25lbs. None of these are simple to transport without a vehicle.
I'm not even going to bother with figuring an even split of 1's 5's & 10's.
Oh, alright, I will: Here's an even split by bill count: One would need 625,000 of each bill; 1, 5 & 10 to get to $10M or 1.875M bills which weighs 3955lbs.
If you wanted an equal value for the lowest three denominations which would be ~$3.3M of each denomination which works out to ~4.33M bills or 9544.8lbs. Though you'd need to substitute an extra fiver for half of a ten since it won't quite divide up evenly like this.
In a nutshell though, cash for this kind of transaction would be a tad unwieldy unless you went with 100's even then its not easy to carry around for most people. A wire transaction is the way to go and ass soon as the money is there start moving it around splitting it up in various ways to hide the trail, etc.
It appears that they are referring to a CD or DVD like product not a hard drive. From the article: In G.E.â(TM)s approach, the holograms are scattered across a disc in a way that is similar to the formats used in todayâ(TM)s CDs, conventional DVDs and Blu-ray discs. So a player that could read microholographic storage discs could also read CD, DVD and Blu-ray discs. But holographic discs, with the technology G.E. has attained, could hold 500 gigabytes of data. Blu-ray is available in 25-gigabyte and 50-gigabyte discs, and a standard DVD holds 5 gigabytes.
People typically assume they're much smarter than they really are. You, reflecting the FBI's technique realize there are several issues that could limit its success. However, that they do it, obviously it has worked, & given the propagation vectors of a typical internet worm, the successes seen by various phishing scams indicates to me that they'd likely have some success even if they sent out an email with the program as an attachment for the person being surveiled to run even if it indicated in the From address that it was from surveillance_program@fbi.gov
While I agree that all the kids should have their convictions vacated & do not think it's a reasonable use of resources to retry any of them with the possible exception of a kid convicted of a violent crime who's sentence would be shortened by the vacating of the conviction. Pretty much all, if not all, of them should get a pass on this, the state had their shot & the state f'd it up through the corruption of the person presiding over the trial for personal gain.
A friend of mine's dad back in college was in "intelligence gathering" for the government. You know the sort of thing were they kept a "bug out bag" packed and ready to go. Essentially his family was part of his cover story. For this sort of work you apparently needed to join the military, be intelligent & pass the various tests in the appropriate way, maintain a high degree of physical fitness, be willing to do things most people wouldn't and probably most importantly be able to keep you mouth shut.

To paraphrase Uncle Red: There are very few problems that can not be solved with a suitable use of high explosives.
Thus if the problem remains, you didn't use enough explosives.

While I'm not complaining about making car emissions cleaner lets start looking at making some of the current big offenders cleaner.

While this is rather cool, I can't help thinking that, somehow, Vincent Price had a hand in the project.
Yes, but how many of those have been in continuous use with no service done to them?
I was thinking that these severance agreements were supposed to be a poison pill to discourage a corporate take over.
Times they are a changin'.
