Homer Simpson: Welcome to the internet, my friend, how can I help you? Comic Book Guy: I'm interested in upgrading my 28.8 kilobaud internet connection to a 1.5 megabit fiber optic T1 line. Will you be able to provide an IP router that's compatible with my token ring ethernet LAN configuration? Homer Simpson: [stares blankly for a few seconds] Can I have some money now?
This has been discussed for a long time, create an XXX or PORN domain. Block all porn on.com.net.org, etc... and "encourage" those domains to be used. Then it'd be a snap for each individual household to block or allow that content. Just like if I don't want to see that stuff in the book store or video store, I just stay out of that area. Same idea for the internet.
I know it's not that black and white, b/c who decides what needs to be on the new domain.... but it's an idea to talk about anyway.
Every increase in crop yields due to the use of GM crops saves the lives of some people that would otherwise die from starvation. It's a direct and obvious relation - there's no need to do a scientific study here.
[citation needed]
Just because a crop is bigger does NOT mean that it makes it onto a starving person's plate. If he/she can't pay for it then they still stave. It's a problem of economics and politics, not just agriculture.
I for one would love to see a study that shows GMOs save lives.
Is it worth it? Remember small-ish panic caused by the daylight saving change a few years ago (in the US anyway)? It was a mini-Y2K to make sure your systems were ready... and some of ours weren't. If your cash registers aren't penny-less ready then you'll never balance your drawers (no childish jokes please:). $11 mill ain't gonna balance the budget and it may cost the business sector more than $11 mill to handle the change (no pun intended).
1) Penny wise and.454kg foolish 2) Go the extra 1.61km 3) Give him an 2.54cm and he'll take a 1.61km 4) Came within an 2.54cm of it 5) An 28.3g of prevention is worth a.454kg of cure...
... as far as I can see, the only thing Lego in this quadcopter is the plastic structure. Motors are not, batteries are not, control electronics are not, RF and presumably remote control are not, servomotors are not.
From the summary:
after damaging his Gaui 330x, got the idea of designing and building a Lego quadcopter. And it worked! 'Most people go to their favourite hobby store to get parts for their UAV, I go to my kids playroom.
What part about "after damaging" and "get parts" didn't you understand?
Also, please share your plans to build a battery using only legos; I think we'd all be interested.
"These cans! He hates these cans! Get away from these cans!" is a line from "The Jerk", a movie by Steve Martin. There is a man trying to kill Steve's character "The Jerk" and misses and hits oil cans (The Jerk is in a garage). The Jerk sees several cans get hit and comes to the wrong conclusion, "He hates these cans!". The parent comment also comes to the wrong conclusion "These guys really hate documentaries!" therefore the parent commenter must be The Jerk.
...Putting a phone interface on a desktop was a bad idea. We already knew that, but it's nice to get confirmation.
I'd argue that Win8 isn't a "desktop OS". See "desktop" is a paradigm for your desktop (dun!). You know where you stack papers and stickies and stuff and grab a paper from 3 layers down to the top. If you can't stack, it isn't a desktop. Win8 is a "tablet OS" running on PCs that people sit on (or under) their real desktops. Problem is people like PCs that act like virtual desktops... they like desktop PCs.
Can you take GPL code, dust off the license and release it as closed source? The "version" of mySQL they bought has to remain free and ALL derivative works have to remain free.
Now I realize they can port proprietary Oracle type stuff over and KEEP it closed; but the GPL keeps the opposite from happening.
Is there a case here? Or are they letting open code die from attrition and slowly "borg-ing" proprietary code in for those dead pieces? TFA, as far as I can tell, is only pointing out a change in the testing methods/structures; not DB source code. Maybe they are preparing to borg in closed code.... but have they already?
Ok, so what if I'm a poor chap with no insurance that gets a illness with and need catastrophic treatment.... say chemo for my cancer. I go into debt to the order of hundreds of thousands, maybe millions. I already can't pay that... now I owe that AND a tax. Sorry tax payers your still screwed out of the healthcare cost and now your screwed out of the "tax" fee too.
Same s*!t, different day. If the poor couldn't afford (or want) healthcare yesterday, I don't see this changing their minds today.
Who the F@$# thinks a screenshot involves the camera? Time to think b/f you post.
... Sure new buildings can have very high inefficiencies ...
You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
The privacy statement (as quoted here) states "productsearch.ubuntu.com" as the ubuntu search proxy address.

Looks like the school district leaned [sic] a valuable lesson ... oh wait!
There, fixed that for ya :)
xkcd: Epsilon and Zeta
Come on, somebody mod that funny!
And his wife is proud of all the weight he's lost.

You Jerk.
That's where the Simpsons went to disappear. :)

He's right ... m-u-s-t, n-o-t, i-n-v-o-k-e, G-o-d-w-i-n-'-s, L-a-w
Damit, I was just going to post that. It is so juicy when you can expose the ignorance of the prejudiced.

I'll write a GUI in visual basic to plot the occurrences over time of misuse of Higgs boson technobabble-based in popular media.
Yet he has a score of 4 and you have a score of 2, sting much?
