You see, I can't be bothered carrying around loads of cards with me. However the driving licence is usefull because it acts as ID so I carry it on me.

Well, this system already exists and is what happens here in the UK, and probably right across the EU.

Something I've recently discovered is that I don't get work done due to distractions, like you say the web. What I now do, if I need to read a book is go to the library. Its full of ppl doing work, so you're in an environment of work without the distraction of computers (if you go to a floor without them). The only distraction I've found in my university are the views, some lovely views over Hull, UK. ahh, well I have gotten work/revision done before the deadline by making use of the library.

    Good luck with your studies.

Alternativelly I'll buy one if my network (Orange) shuts down its 2G service or if a killer app is produced for the phones. I can't think what though.

The first phones are always going to be poor, in three years they'll be far superior and probably worth purchasing.

Every other kid was using it like a gun, but I had never seen a gun in action before. I used it like an electric drill because I saw my Dad use a similar looking object as a drill.

I was aware of TV and had watched it at friends' houses and really wanted TV, my parents gave in to me. I don't think I acted differently, but I knew that what was on TV wasn't neccessarily real. I didn't see that many ads as in the UK all the best kids programs are shown on the BBC. I only had access to four heavily regulated channels with watersheds. Two of which didn't have ads.

If I didn't know about TV, and then was thrust into a world of 40-something channels with ads every 5 minutes then I'm sure it would have a detrimental affect on me. I'd believe the TV, and obey it.

Not having a TV whilst I was growing up is actually having its biggest effect on me now, at the age of 20. I'm at university and everyone around me reminisces about old cartoons that they used to watch. I can't join in and it really bugs me!

You can use electricity to convert water into hydrogen and oxygen and when the Hydrogen is burnt in the atmosphere it reacts with oxygen to give off heat. Esentially that heat energy has come from the electricity used in the creation of the Hydrogen minus any in-efficiencies.

It'd probably serve us well to concentrate efforts on moving away from fossil fuels to offshore wind farms, more efficient vehicles, less wastage through re-use of energy and of course look into Hydrogen fuel.

If you still get spam then you should be able to forward it onto some Government organisation who would deal with the company with an army of beurachrats.

Here in the UK, we have a good system for stopping unsolicited phone calls and text (SMS) messages. It is called TPS (Telephone Preference Service). You basically register your number(s) with this organisation and marketeers aren't allowed to use that number. If they do you can report it, they can check phone records or something and fine them something like £5,000. This system does work.
