In the UK driving is a privilege, not a right. You obtain that privilege by passing a driving test and not breaking the highway code too often or too seriously.
Walking down the street on the otherhand is a right and requires no test.
LOL, thats quite funny. I'm supprised that some Americans say zed.
I'm British and my brother learnt the alphabet from Sesame Street. I remember him always saying zee at the end of the alphabet song, so I kept correcting him. He now says zed, which it the British English was of saying it.
I'd always assumed that all Americans said zee. I learnt something new today!
If you're in the UK, the BBC have some programs covering this on Tuesday. There's live coverage at 9.50AM on BBC1 and another program on at 12PM on BBC1. Theres a full hour program on BBC2 at 11.20PM. All presented by Adam Hart-Davis.
I'd rather have more energy going into taking these sites down rather than blocking them.
However this is BT, a PLC and not the government. They don't have the power to take down sites which they don't host. They do have the power to block them which is what they are doing.
"A list of illegal sites compiled by the Internet Watch Foundation, the industry's watchdog, has been available for some time, but until now there has been no way to prevent people accessing them because most are based outside the UK."
So, they are probably going to be using the already known sites.
I'm in the UK on an online o2 pay as you talk tarrif.
It costs me: 10p(18c)/min to phone a landline or someone else on o2. 35p(63c)/min to phone a mobile on a different network. 10p(18c) to send a text message (160 chrs). 25p(45c) to send an MMS
If I top up with 10 of credit I get 300 free text messages for the next month or 200 text and 25 MMS. They don't cost me 10($18), I just have to add that much credit to my phone. I can spend that 10 on calls.
Its a pretty good tarrif as I prefer to text than to talk. I can lay out exactly what I want to get across, and I don't have to worry about a large bill cos I know I've got loads of them for free.
I guess the pricing of voicemail will change. My voicemail (o2 pay as you talk) is 10p for as long as I want. TBH, I would get bored and give up if I had to go through loads of ads before I reached any usefull messages.
Or, how about purchasing a player that does support OGG files such as the Rio Karma. That will provide you with a portable player that does play OGG and you will be supporting a company that provides OGG playback. They are good quality players, I have one!
I just had a look at their 'smart fortwo coupe pure' and it achieves a combined 60.1 MPG (UK Gallons). That is very good. For those countries that can get Citroen cars and don't have a problem with Diesels, then the Citroen C2 is probably a more viable option, as it is larger and manages 68.9 MPG combined.
Thunderbird at least (probably in Mozilla as well) has an option to turn off remotely loaded images. So you can keep the HTML formating if you so desire without worrying about being tracked in this fashion.
I can't find such an option in Mozilla. I've googled around but can't find anything on it. Maybe its time for me to switch to Firefox & Thunderbird.
This then allows their server to know when the mail was downloaded by the user without having to rely on images.
Unfortunatelly, I don't think it works like that. Their server will then send it to the users' server, or the mail server of their ISP or the mail sever of a webmail account such as Yahoo!, Gmail or Hotmail. Their server will send the message straight away, without any delay. The end user does not download the message from didtheyreadit.com sever, they download it from their usuall Yahoo! SMTP server or whatever their usuall mail server is.
From the 'How It Works' page: Will my recipient know that I am tagging my e-mail? No. Not unless you want them to know.
As I suspected, they are just using a tracking image, sometimes I look at the source of messages (sad, I know), then I would know if I was being tracked. That saves me opening an account to see how they were going to do this.
I always view my email as Plain Text using Mozilla, so this wouldn't work unless I decided to switch back to HTML. I made some of these tracking images once and tried it out. I found that browsers were cacheing them, so it wouldn't always register if it was viewed in a webmail acount.
OK, fair enough. I agree that Moore was trying to get that point across, in fact fear was probably the underlying message of the film.
I just felt that he exagerated and made out that the Millenium Bug wasn't a big deal. There are other things in the film that I don't know much about and am to lazy to research further. The one thing that I did know about, he seemed to portray in an unbalanced way.
I enjoyed bowling for Columbine. But I would need to check out some of his claims. You see, he claims that the Millenium Bug was just made up to scare people, and his proof is that nothing happened. He didn't recognise that people worked hard to solve the problem, he just claims that there was no bug and that it was just a hoax.

Tonight there is an hour long program on BBC 2 at 11.20PM about the Transit of Venus.

The BBC and Open University have a nice section on this. Its worth looking at.
You can calculate the distance of the earth from the sun.

Why don't you buy a laptop then. They are defined to be portable.
The site seems to be slashdotted.
Here is Googles' Cache.
Yes, I switched back to eMule, after trying Shareaza for a few weeks. I'm just trying to set up MLDonkey. It might be better, who knows.
I guess its the markerteers own version of l33t speak.
I want to know if you can convert a Hybrid that uses Petrol into Hybrid that uses LPG. That would make it even cheaper to run.

orange text on blue background is one of the built in template style things for OO.o Presentation.
I used to leave mine on vibrate, but then I found that I started missing calls. I've got a SonyEricsson t68i and the vibrate isn't very strong.
