I too have that book. My parents bought loads of Ladybird books from jumble-sales when I was younger. They are very good books and I've learnt so much from them.
It would be good to see some of the Usborne books I used to borrow from the kids section of the Library. These taught me how to program BBC Basic, fascinating stuff, especially the liberal use of GOTO statements. Ah well, now I have a career in Software Engineering. hmm, I wonder if you can still get books on how to program for kids.
I assume the UK is in the free world. I can't remember seeing it here, although I've never looked for it. However, I have noticed USA Today seems to be everywhere.
You could use the GeeXboX Linux distribution. I haven't used it for a year but from what I remember it is a LiveCD. You boot up and can then access any network shares (including Windows) from your network. It will then play pretty much anything.
Goddmans make a DivX Player model: DVD161DIVX 5.1 DVD Player.
If you are in the UK you can pick one up for £60 from Argos. I have one, and find that it works very well whilst also looking good. All my videos play fine except for Real Player ones.
Yep, we have hand held barcode scanners in the UK. Waitrose has them and Safeway used to before being bought out by Morrisons. They work similar to the Belgium system as descriped by the parent.
As for calculators on shopping trolleys, Somerfield used to do them, but seem to have got rid of them. This was probably down to vandalism, little pricks stabbing the LCD and solar cells.
Hopefully the germans learn English so they can us the English version of Google then.
They don't need to. They just have to change the domain. So, taking that original german link and replacing de with co.uk you get a Google search in German, but with the full results.

If they wanted Microsoft products they would just copy them or download them for virtually the same price as Linux products.
It only costs money if you are in a coutnry that enforces or even has anti-piracy laws and I doubt that North Korea would. Especially as Microsoft is an American software vendor.
Its probably more of an anti-Microsoft, anti-Capitilism stance.
"KCC regards it as its immediate target to reach the world level and to be competent in the world market in a few years in development of Linux-based operating system and applications, computer-aided high technology and services with its own core technology."
I have been upgraded to 100MB but neither of my girlfriend's accounts (she has two) have been upgraded.
I always download my email with POP, so they don't have to store many of mine wheras both of her accounts are at >80%. I suspect I've been upgraded cos I don't store many emails so it won't cost them too much and it looks like good PR.
tm2b said that he had to carry around four iPods to carry all of his music with him. He can't fix a normal desktop computer into his plane because unless it is defined as 'portable' then he has to go through the long drawn out process of getting FAA aproval.
So, that was the problem. I suggested solving that by him using a laptop because they are defined as 'portable'.
I'm sorry that you don't seem to be able to click on the Parent button below my post and read what I was replying to. Maybe in future, for your benefit I will copy and paste the entire parents' text into my article so that you may read it.

Disclaimer: I have not RTFA, because it seems to be /.ed, although I only ried once.
The British Library Sound Archive has apparantly ammased 2.5 million recordings.
The late John Peel had a large library of music, much of which he never found the time to listen to. This may be going to Sound Archive.
This guy, 'The Music Man', has some way to go. And, his recordings are illigal downloads.

Is this product called 'Together' by any chance? Now owned by Borland. Together is probably my worst experience of Java.
